I was just wondering if anybody else has dislocated their any fingers before? Or any other body parts really.
Yesterday I was playing basketball with a few friends at dinner, we were just taking three pointer shots for the hell of it, the bell had already gone for class but we were trying to get as much in as we could :p. one of my friends missed and i was closest to it so i went to get it, it bounced off the floor but i misjudged where it would end up so instead of getting the palm of my hand it hit the tip of my little finger and it just bent out to the left. I've never really broken or dislocated anything before and i was expecting it to be really painful if i ever did but i barely even noticed it was like that, it was just like bending my finger back (only it stayed there) I wouldn't have known it was even bent if i didn't look at it.
Anyway i went to first aid and they completely over-exaggerated the whole situation, the put a bandage around my hand all the way to my wrist and put a sling around my arm which made it look like i had broken my arm or something. Anyway they phoned my mum and we went to the hospital and they were just as baffled about the sling and the bandage as i was, they just took them off :L. Anyway I went for an x-ray and they just said it wasn't broken and decided they could just snap it back into place, which they did. Now it just feels bruised, they re-xrayed it to make sure that everything is ok, which it was, apart from a small spec of bone or something in the side which they couldnt see on the first one because it wa hidden behind my finger, the doctor said it was most likely a snapped tendon and it would just re-heal itself.
Anyway I'll attach a couple of photos but they will probably be small as they were taken on my phone and i can't be bothered to re-size them. Has anybody else got any stories of dislocations? and did it hurt when it happened to you?

Picture I took of my hand just after it happened:

Never had a dislocation, but have had a broken little toe :P

Being a sports medic, I have seen I would say over 50 dislocated/broken fingers and countless other injuries not on fingers. Had to laugh at what your first aiders did. I never do anything like that, I just ice the finger, and if able to sports strap it until they get to a doc. But yeah that was a massive over reaction.

Glad its all better now, was a pretty decent dislocation.

one of my fingers just appeared that way after a certain age (really young age). It doesn't hurt or anything but it's really annoying, and at first we didn't know why, but later on I found that it was probably because of Neurofibromatosis type I (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurofibromatosis_type_I), which I ...um have.

there's no way to snap it back, but my mom plans to have a doctor fix it in the future...somehow...

Dislocated the 4th digit on my left hand, as well as broke the growth plates on the same finger when I was 13-14.
Happened when I was riding my bike rather fast through the woods, and leaves covered up a nice ditch/hole that my front tire got stuck in. I went flying, and stuck my left arm out to break my fall. When it happened, I didn't even feel it. I got back up and rode my bike back to our camper, it wasn't until my mom started freaking out that I realized that I had broken/dislocated anything. :P

I never got a picture of my finger when it was still dislocated, but I do have the x-ray:
