Well, "C.R.A.Z.Y." since the title of the thread kept getting auto-caps-filter'd.
So my Canadian Literature class is starting a unit on screenwriting and we recently watched this film, titled after Patsy Cline's "Crazy" and also stands for the names of each of the brothers' names.
It's a Canadian francophone film but it is absolutely amazing about a gay boy growing up in the 70s and 80s with a rather homophobic, religious and dysfunctional family. It seems cliché when I describe it but there's just something about it that was so real and so relatable. This is probably partially because I come from a French-Canadian family but the movie hit on so many things about growing up anywhere.
The IMDB page. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0401085/)
I don't usually cry during movies but the end of this one had me in tears in the middle of class. It had its sad moments but the film as a whole just got to me.
Has anyone else seen this? If not, I'd highly recommend watching it.
