School Shower

So today I stayed after school for two friends while they made up a gym class. I didn't have too make a class up, so stayed to give both company. When one of my friends was done (1 Male, 1 Female) and I told him I wouldn't be with him for awhile cause I was gonna take a shower. He was kinda surprised and taken back that me of all people was going to take a shower. He was just like Ok, have fun type of thing and when we got inside he was like "are you really gonna take a shower" and I said yeah, I have bodywash in my locker every class. I offered him some :) but he said No Thanks and just left in what he was like always. We were both sweating really hard and it was 80ish out and we had taken a mile run and so much more. So went outback and took a shower, pretty much a quick rinse off. Yes I was naked and there was no one else. Getting changed and another friend who likes to follow me around starts knocking on the door. I answer it and hes like whats taking you so long. I tell him and he FLIPS out. He's like only homos do that and stuff and Im like no they don't. He also was like why would you take a shower at school. It's easy because it was so hot out. Also were allowed to use them whenever I just never have the guts after class. The rest of the day he flipped out but my one friend that was with me in the locker room though it was cool and was glad I used the shower. Soo yeahh what do you think about this? I kept telling the friend that flipt out that be glad he doesnt go to a school that requires showers...

I think the friend who made a big deal over this is just irrational and probably very uneasy with his sexuality :P

I remember when I Was your age, everyone (well, most people) would joke about having a shower after class (it wasn't compulsory for us... They were there and ready to use if we wanted). It was always a joke between us saying "let's all get naked in the showers! Woohoo!" but there was always one person who was deadly serious about saying it was gay to have a shower at school.
I guess there are just some people out there who aren't comfortable with showering with their friends / people they know. I'm sure they'll get over it some time :)

YEah to react so vehemently to that sort of thing is weird to me. I know kids who say like "Eww thats gay." But never full on flip out mode. I played hockey for 7 years and for 5 of those years I showered after every practice and game in the locker-room. Roughly 4 times a week. It was pretty common, in fact one year there was only 2 kids of 20 on the team who didnt shower, so it would take forever since there were only 4 heads.

What I'm trying to say is, I've showered with many people over the years in the locker-room, and while a small handful were questionable in terms of sexuality (Myself included), the large majority of them were 100% straight.

either the kid who called it gay is extremely homophobic and against males exposing themselves in each other's presence, or he's gay and doesn't know it, and is afraid of being exposed to it coz he doesn't wanna come out?

As people have stated, the others may just be uneasy with the whole showering thing. At least, in public that is.

You should really re-think having a friendship who calls you "homo" because you want to take a shower...he is over-reacting to the extreme, you were the rational one. You were sweating, so you showered! Nothing wrong there, that friend of yours needs to lighten up a little, you know? :D

he must be worried about people seeing his dick or getting a boner in the showers. neither one is bad, i can tell ya from experience. it happens. i love to use the showers at school and at the gym, makes me feel grown up.

Your friend was, well flipping out over nothing and I mean nothing all he is doing is making a big deal out of nothing!

He could possibly be uncomfortable with there sexuality. Or he is either a complete douche. People take showers in school. Not a big deal.

My school district doesn't want to spend the time, money, and effort to make every kid shower, so our schools have no showers at all, and the few showers that were built with the older schools in the 70's and 80's are box filled dusty storage units now!
