What do you guys think?

Will Marijuana be legalized within the next ten years in the US?

If it was to be legalized would you consume it?

Yep, many people are wanting it legalized for "medical" reasons.

I wouldn't. I've heard their 25x worse than cigarettes. But I've also heard it the other way around. Brownies on the other hand... That idk about haha

By most State Governments? Yes. But it'll probably be longer than 10 years before it's federally legalized.

Agreed. And yes, I would.

I agree. I can't pin point a time to which it will be federally legalized, but I do know that it is in the not to far off future for us.

There are some proven medical benefits from it, science has proven some.

Another point - cigarettes are far worse, think of all the chemicals placed into the tobacco, marijuana doesn't have nearly as much compared to cigs.

I live in the UK, and if they were legalised here I probably would not smoke them since I've been brought up to ban drinking somking and drugs. Even though my dad drinks and smokes.

For the first Question

No, simply because if they did legalize it in the US the next thing we would know is people would then want other minor stuff legalized.

Second Question

No sorry, I am not into drugs or anything like that

What does this mean? It doesn't sound bad at all. Hardly a reason to outlaw a fairly harmless substance.

Personally I dont think it will be legalized.

From a health and societal wellbeing standpoint alcohol is WAY worse than pot. Hell, every drug is WAY worse than pot.

What do you guys think? I think that this proposal has been going on for way too long and that it will never happen, it's just something to keep the people who enjoy smoking it excited.

Will Marijuana be legalized within the next ten years in the US? Nope

If it was to be legalized would you consume it? Tried it once, didn't care for it, so my answer to this is again...negative.

Well it was illegal first and there must of been a reason so I am happy with this to be illegal.

I almost guarantee that it will..at least in some states. The tolerance level has greatly increased for many.

I would consume and carry it (at legal age of course).

In the next ten years, I would say more state governments would legalize its use for medicinal purposes. For personal use? Most likely not, even though it's basically the same as alcohol. It will be much longer than 10 years before the federal government legalizes it for the whole nation.

Are you being serious? "There must've been a reason, so let's just keep it illegal." That's terrible justification, especially since the big reason is mainly because paper and other product industry lobbyists didn't want to have to compete with hemp manufacturers.

Even if there wasn't a bullshit initial reason, the current "War on Drugs" causes the unnecessary deaths of thousands of people on a regular basis while lining the pockets of violent drug cartels and not doing anything at all to accomplish the goal of drug eradication.

That alone should make you want to legalize pot and at least help the situation a little. The decriminalization and/or legalization of drugs has literally no negative side effects.

There's so much ignorance in this thread that I had to stop reading halfway down the first page. I don't know if anyone said this yet, but Marijuana is illegal because the paper (from trees, REGULAR trees lol) industries knew how much better hemp was to make paper, and how much more durable it was. Also, at the time when the U.S. made Marijuana illegal, the country was also run by racist fucks, and since immigrants (namely from Mexico) were smoking marijuana and getting high from it, they saw this as a very bad thing because it made the Mexicans go "crazy" and laugh at nothing like they were ill. So no, just because it's illegal doesn't mean that it's bad and should stay illegal.

Marijuana btw, has NO chemical additives because it's NATURAL and grown naturally. Tobacco on the other hand, is grown with radioactive pesticides and other things that are sprayed onto the plants with big crop duster planes. And also marijuana causes no deaths directly from usage, so there's NO way that it's 25x worse than cigarettes. Maybe it gets you 25x more high than cigarettes, but no way can it be worse for you. It's safer than caffeine, donuts, alcohol, cheeseburgers, heroin, riding a bike, etc.

It probably will be legalized eventually but I hope that the production isn't taken over by corporations. If it is we'll be stuck with shitty arsenic weed. If it can be grown by oneself or by a trusted dealer I would smoke it. If they start putting shit in it no way.

Well if it were legal you would be able to grow your own like you're allowed to make your own alcohol. Except growing a plant is much easier than making alcohol lol. Also there's no way of knowing what the industries will do with it. Since people are already smoking very potent stuff, I don't think they'll go and make the bad stuff with chemicals and stuff because why would they buy that when they can just have the same stuff that they've been getting? So I would bet that they would be forced to just make it BETTER if anything because that will bring in more money. It's a funny thing because marijuana is nothing like cigarettes. People who smoke cigarettes don't really care what the quality of the tobacco is, but people who smoke bud most of the time will get very into looking at their buds and all the different colors, trichomes, hairs, textures etc. Almost like the way that cigar smokers really like to enjoy a cigar, but I would say people appreciate marijuana more than any tobacco product.

I think it will be legalized by the majority of state governments in the next 10 years rather than the federal government, but I don't think it will be too far behind that. Although to be honest, it doesn't really make much of a difference. If you want to smoke some bud you're going to do it regardless.

While I am more for marijuana over alcohol, I still think illegalizing alcohol would be the absolute dumbest thing this country could do. Then we would have a war on alcohol, and that people will for sure fight for.

Well it was illegal first and there must of been a reason so I am happy with this to be illegal.

Do you realize the difference between being drunk off and being high off marijuana? Being under the influence of marijuana is much more safer than being under the influence of alcohol. You have a hard ass time controlling yourself when you are drunk and vice versa for weed.

And no, there is no particular reason why it's illegal, it's illegal because of narrow minded morons like YOU. You think marijuana wrecks lives...Look at alcohol.

I would consume it weather legal or not, I don't care what the government says I can have and can't have. Now before anyone comes and says I'd support the mexican cartels you're wrong, I have access to state grown marijuana, money goes to the government, which you could compare to the cartels but I digress. I choose not to smoke it, mainly due to income.

I would be the first person to own a pot bakery everything from pot brownies, to doughnuts, to ice cream. I probably wouldn't smoke it. To dispute any myth marijuana is not really more dangerous than cigarettes if inhaled most smokers hold it in longer therefore it would have more damaging affects. But weed is better than tobacco because it has more benefits. Like helping with long-term cancer.

Look at statistics from prohibition. Crime rates, murder, arrests, all went down when alcohol was legalized.
