Just a question because my school is doing one right now. There is a rule that you HAVE to wear a jumper or blazer even if it's boiling hot weather. This of course has angered a lot of students. So now we have set up a 'Jumper Strike'.

The students are now refusing to wear a jumper and blatantly refusing to put the jumper on when told to. It's been going on for just over a week now.

Anything like this happened at your school?

No, we had the teacher strike and on the last day the year 11's all come in drunk and stuff and trash the school (one year they brought hundreds of rubber ducks in and it took the staff ages to clean them all out lol) But no, nothing like that although they make us wear jumpers and no coats indoors and no bags in the hall so we should start something like that haha.

Nope. everything at my school is done well, and although I have some complaints, none of them are bad enough to actually cause a strike.

I hope the students at your school wins. Who wants to wear a jumper/sweater when it's so hot outside? I would be angry at that.

No, but me and some friends tried to get rid of our principal and tried to form a strike, but that ended badly...until he retired the next year. All good now. :)

We have never done one as a school, no. Last year, my county... oh I forget the official jargon, but basically they redistributed teachers. They removed (mostly high school) teachers from their current jobs and promised them jobs at other schools, but most would probably be placed in lower level schools, being paid less than before. They did it mostly randomly, so we lost a lot of our favorite teachers. Students from several schools in the area got together to protest it, but it didn't work. Teachers weren't allowed to protest or strike because my state sucks.

We had a riot the other week. Some kid got suspended for something and it angered students. Pretty dumb actually.

Ya last year, when budget cuts were happening and teachers were being laid off, tons of the high schools walked out and left. It made the news :p

Nah, we've never had anything like that unless you count kids wearing hats when they aren't supposed to :P

There's an "unlimited student strike" going on in the province of Quebec at the moment. A huge dash of tertiary education students (colleges and universities) are on strike. Most of the "soft" faculties like literature, philosophy, anthropology, etc are on strike in every university.

Law isn't. Poor me.

Yeah. One time in my school they were banning short shorts, so everyone wore short shorts till they couldnt control it anymore. :)

Really?
Why?

Most religious acts are not welcome in public schools, I kinda agree with this, that way no one is offended.

Also No at my school no strikes, the rules are fair so why change them.

I agree with what your doing.
