He lives less then an hour away and he said gass prices (about $3) is too high for him to come see me for the first time since CHRISTMAS!!! Dont know why I care so much. Dont like him much anyway. Guess i just had my hopes too high that maybe we could fix things.....

I'm actually in a very similar situation as you. My dad has been making horrible excuses just like that for years now. I know I shouldn't let it bother me like I do, but it's hard not to. And sometimes it really starts to get to me. You're not alone, and you honestly might be better off without him being a big part of your life if those are his reasons.

yeah i try not to care it all started cuz im bisexual and hes a homophob..... accually it all started way before that guess that was the breaking point

Oh my... My dad is so much like this! Okay, check this one out. One time for Christmas, my dad said he couldn't get us any presents because "money was too tight" (In all fairness, he had lost his job recently. Ironic, though, he got it back three weeks later.) But somehow, he was able to get my step-moms two sons expensive paintball guns. Hmmm...

yeah i hate my stepmother sdhe made me bury my kitten while i was in hysterics and clean up its blood after watching it be murdered by a dog and said it wouldnt have happened if i hadent been on the computer.

It's the little things that bug us, I'm bugged by a kinda similiar situtaion and I shouldn't be at all and I've seen counselors and what not for it and they've all told me the same thing. Even if you don't like him that much it'll still get to ya.

3$ a gallon for gas though??!! I wish ours was that cheap :/

Sometimes that's for the best, you know? I mean, if I lived with my dad, I would be even worse than I am now. My mom isn't very... parenty but at least she does a better job than my father. And if your mom loves you and does the best for you, at least it's better than nothing at all, right? Even though it doesn't heal the hurt that your father may cause, it's a little step in the right direction for healing.

That's always I good thing. I know It doesn't make the pain your dad has caused go away. I don't think it ever will, either. I think those things take time. Who knows, maybe one day he will apologize for everything and change. You can never be sure. Just don't put all of your hopes that he will change, because it's not a guarantee. I am sorry about your dad, though :\.
