So I heard this one girl talking about how she did shrooms and she said she wasn't in control. What does that mean? Is it that your not in control of the trip itself, or like your possessed? Like I know your not in control of the trip, but are you in control of what you do? I'm confused on the whole thing of "not being in control". Please explain

Basically, like when she's tripping she isn't aware as to what she's doing. Like Xanax bars those are the reset button of the human life, you don't remember what goes on when you do too much of those, had a friend forget the previous 3 days of his life during a road trip to another city. Also, Salvia makes you forget what's going on. Plenty of them out there that do that same thing, but yes the "Not in control" part is true. Your body is there, but mentally you aren't aware as to what your doing.

So extreme example (but I heard it makes you feel suicidal if your already depressed): you could grab a knife and stab yourself several times. And after your trip, you don't know why you have stabs?

Yes, but only in like extreme cases, like if youd coked out of your fucking mind. But no typical stuff like forgetting small things, same thing as being drunk, you don't really realize what your doing/have done.

Not likely. Depending on the drug, you would not want to do that to yourself, or you wouldn't even recognize it as a knife thus you would not stab something with it, and you likely would not even bother picking it up.

There are drugs that can cause you to do things such as that, like PCP and Cocaine - but most drugs will not do that to you.

Most people who say "You're not in control on drugs", are spreading propaganda. You need to be more specific, because many drugs you are in complete control and know exactly what you did.

I'm talkin bout mushrooms On mushrooms, you're definitely not going to pick up a random object like a knife and stab yourself. Trust me on that one, you wouldn't even recognize the object and you would much prefer staring at the TV. You'd instantly feel any pain you cause yourself, it isn't a drug that inhibits pain.

Though you may do stupid things such as walk into a wall, trip on something, see objects that aren't there, etc... but you're still aware of what you're doing. Make sure you're in a very safe environment if you ever do try, because if you do fall over and hit your head that is not a good thing.

So to be clear, you aren't in control of what you feel or see. But your in control of what you do. Right? It's like going to bed and having a dream, you are in control cause you went to bed, but your not in control of the dream itself. Right? So if you were to see a dragon (for instance) you cannot control that, but you can control if you speak, talk, yell/scream, walk, run, eat, grab, touch, and overall what you do physically, you just cannot control what/how you feel or see?

Then why should someone watch you?

So if you were to see a dragon (for instance) you cannot control that, but you can control if you speak, talk, yell/scream, walk, run, eat, grab, touch, and overall what you do physically, you just cannot control what/how you feel or see?

Then why should someone watch you? No, it's a bit different in a dream. I'd say it's like a lucid dream. You can't control what you see, but you can control what you hear, what motions you make, what you feel when you see those objects, and how you react to it - and you can decide whether or not the thing you are seeing could exist in the area you're in or not. So if you see something that looks out of place, it probably is.

You could possibly see a dragon, but it would simply be an altered perception of something like a statue. You can't see a dragon pop up out of no where, there would need to be something there that you are seeing as a dragon.

You still are sensible and have logic, but there is also dangers to this. For example if you're on a highway, a car might look like a horse. So this is why you have someone watch you, and stay in a safe area with nothing that can seriously injure you. (Like a room with no sharp tables, just a couch and a TV, something like that.)

Its takes over you senses!!! =) Why do you think people WARN about them! Now I don't promote the usage of drugs, but I also do not like it when people spread propaganda. It does not "take over" your senses. Depending on the drug, it can alter your perception, hence it seems like it's taking control of you - but that's simply not how it is.

You aren't fully in control while you're on drugs mainly because your judgement is impaired. You aren't capable of making the same conscious decisions as you are when sober, and often you will make poor ones.

No matter what drug it is (including weed) you ability to control situations is changed. With weed this isn't too bad, but some drugs will truly make you a 100% different person to where you will do extremely bad things.

Well my personal opinion when i used to trip you can semi controll yourself but like when youre trippin it changes your preception of whats happening so you react different than you normaly would to simaler situations. like fear in a bad trip, you react from the fear even if whats really happening isnt scarey your tripp is altering the perception...sorry its kinda hard for me to explain but you are in control of your body physically

I think what she means is she's doing things without thinking, or doing things without knowing why. At least this is what happens to me.
