ZOMG ZOMG trailer, finally!... what the fuck?
Umm. I wasn't expecting that... and evidently I'm not the only one.
Of course I'm going to go see it. I just... yeah. He made it a comedy? I started watching that trailer thinking it was going to have the same mood at the beginning of the video all throughout... I hope you know what you're doing, Burton. I'm hoping the trailer is worse than the film :/

It looks awesome. I do trust Burton's visions whenever he decides to make something. So far, Johnny D and Burton haven't made a bad picture in my eyes, so I'm going to be looking forward to this.

I had NO idea it was like this... I was expecting some gothic pseudo Sweeney Todd type thing but this... I just hope he doesn't screw this one up.

Yeah, I haven't seen him do anything I completely disliked yet. I wanted Alice to be ten times as dark as he made it, but it wasn't bad. And other than that, everything he's done I loved. So I shouldn't doubt him, but it's got me a bit worried.

My dad used to watch this with his brothers when he was a kid. If I don't see this then my screen name isn't evil.angel...

Mmm. Yeah, Alice I wanted to be really dark, because it's a dark story, or at least what was behind the story was exceptionally dark. Lewis Carroll/Charles Dogson himself and Alice Liddell. Marilyn Manson was making a film Phantasmagoria based on Lewis Carroll and I was really excited for that because I really want that one Alice that's as dark as it should be (why I love the video game American McGee's Alice). And that fell through so I got my hopes up with Burton but it went the Disney route. Meh.
Off topic.
But I guess I know him more for his dark stuff. He does have a fair amount of lighter works, though some of them have a little twist under them, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Big Fish (all books made into films though.. heh). But yeah, I tend to know him for NBC, Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, so I do automatically expect him to keep punching out gothic fantasies. Though Dark Shadows fits that description even with the comedy.
