No, it's not. You can be sentenced up to fifteen years under federal law for corruption. It's perfectly reasonable.

What he did makes me ashamed to be from Illinois, but the sentence is pretty harsh.

I don't know the full details, but from what I've gathered I agree that this seems like a harsh sentence...

What he did makes me ashamed to be from Illinois, but the sentence is pretty harsh.
Good Lord, guys, do you know NOTHING of sentencing by federal law? 14 years is reasonable within the bounds of federal law. He could have gotten a maximum of 20 years, but he got 14 instead. One of these posters is right, he's lucky he got this sentence.

I'm not denying that the offence he committed can get him that sentence, just that I personally think the sentence is harsh.
How?
