What should I get my friend for his birthday?

I'm kinda stuck on what I should get my friend for his birthday. He turns 16 on the 27th... We've been pretty good friends since the end of October, so it's not like we've known each other forever or whatnot.
Should I just get him a birthday card and an iTunes gift card? I don't wanna go like, way overboard and make an awkward moment, but I don't want to feel bad for not getting him anything.

Actually your idea sounds pretty good. I do that for my guy friends because I'm always at a loss for what to get them (I mean, the girls love my homemade jewelry but I doubt the guys really want unicorn earrings, lol).

Either that or maybe some sort of tshirt with a funny slogan? Those tend to make great gifts that aren't overboard and you can hopefully get a laugh over it to avoid any awkwardness.

yeah, everyone likes gift cards, because you can use them to get whatever you want.

Yup. Birthday card + iTunes gift card is basically ideal. Everyone uses iTunes, and if they don't they probably use the App Store, both of which can benefit from an iTunes gift card.
