So after applying for jobs after maybe 2 years so far; someone finally called for an interview. It's a supermarket and I have to go tomorrow after school. Since it's my first job, I'd like to know what questions they might ask so I can have an idea of what it might be like. I also wanted to know in what attire should I arrive in? I was thinking my casual clothes which seems normal for a job in a supermarket but my parents think I should either wear a suit or have some sort of professional clothing for the interview. I'm not going there looking stupid but I think a suit is a bit too much. What are your opinions??

Not too casual nor formal... I'd say a dress shirt, tie and khakis like this (http://s.fatwallet.com/static/attachments/18270_43712_british_khaki.jpg) would be suitable.

P.S. The weakness question is a difficult one, use this (http://gottamentor.com/viewadvice.aspx?a=207) to help you. The site also has tips on other interview Q's.

Thanks. That one bothered me a bit because I don't want to give off that I'm not qualified for the job when I tell them what my weakness is. That helped. Thanks again.

I actually ended up going to the interview yesterday afternoon. It went well. The manager said that he needs someone that can work in the morning but he'd love to give me a chance so I wasn't disappointed. I have school throughout the whole morning so I can't do anything about that. He told me that someone else would come for an interview and if she didn't fill in the qualifications that he would definitely call me on Monday for the job. If not, he wouldn't need me. He was being honest which I saw was incredible because they usually say "we'll call you in a few weeks" or some crap. I read your thread and it was really helpful and well organized. Thanks for the tips.

Well, even if you don't get the job, there are more places too. He was honest and wasn't distant on the situation. just hope the other applicant screws up ;)

Hopefully you'll get the job... at least the manager was straight up about the situation.

I know. He was a cool guy. And thanks.

I know. I won't get my hopes down. That's what I've been telling my mom. Hopefully they won't fit in for the job or fuck up.
