Hey guys I recently signed up for rural fire service of New South Wales and have got an interview in a few weeks.
My question is have you done anything like this for your town, city or state.
Btw this is all volunteer jobs that you do for the community there are thousands of Aussies doing this all over down under :). My unit is just a few blocks away and about 2kms away is the bushland (very big!).

Done something for the FESA (Western Australia) SES up in Kalbarri, a cyclone and flood effected area of Western Australia. Good luck ;) And 2kms away is the bushland (very big!). Come visit Greater Southern. Image the whole of the ACT, VIC and TAS put together, for one big bushfire prone area.

Well, Im from the US. Ive been in the fire service since 2005. Im not a voly nor full time. We are a paid on call fire department. (any trainings or calls for service we recieve hourly pay) Being in the fire service comes with high responsibility and professionalism. Also important is training. Train, train, train and train some more. Its an awsome career and I wouldnt trade it for the world!

Idk if this counts, but I am a designated bugler (trumpet player) for many military organizations in my town. Can't even begin to count the number of times I have played taps... and occasionally the national anthem.

I am a junior firefighter in my town in the united states and it's so worth it... You are making a diference in the community. Don't be worried, just show that your willing to be active and help.
