You probably get a hard on because you are touching in that area alot so it most likely gets you aroused.

At times I do. And I'd say when you take a shower, use the stuff around you to put a leg up to look and shave there. Around the anus is hard but you'd get used to it if you shave there every once and a while. Just take your time and put your hand there to see if there's hair when you shave.
