i went to the psychiatrist for my psychosis, first my mom talked to him then i did, all he did was ask questions.
Heres some questions he asked me
When did you start seeing and hearing things
What do the voices tell you
Have you seen anything today
Have you heard the voices today
Are you paranoid
Whats the date
are you depressed
Thats just some of the things he asked, throughout the session he will be watching you and writing stuff down, depending on the psychiatrist he might give you some meds to take. Thats how my assessment went, it wasnt so bad pretty easy. Lets hope yours is the same. If i may ask why is it you need the asssessment?

to cut a long story short. iv been in therapy for a year and been assessed three times on a general term. because i didnt "fit" into any of there boxes i got sent to the early intervention psychosis team even though they didnt think thats what was wrong with me.
i had a horrendous day turned up 1h and 15 minutes early to my assessment and they assessed me and asked me questions like you said and then said i have to go for a further 6 months worth of assessments because i still dont fit into any of their boxes. its a nightmare!
i also have to see a psychiatrist in a few week hopefully they can tell me something that will actually help.
thanks for answering <3
did they give you an actual diagnosis?
they just seem to hand me different drug every week.

Yeah they told me i have schizophreniform, which is early schizophrenia. The only med i got was abilify which isnt working i think its making worse. I see my psychiatrist next week i might be put on something else idk yet
That really sucks, i hope it gets better for you

I find it sort of weird that they'd give you abilify for SZ.
My assessment was in three parts, the first was filling out a 150+ question psych test, then I did a "drawing" session with another doctor who told me to draw my family, draw a tree, draw what I felt the world should look like, etc. The last part of my assessment was my psych then gave me a different psych test verbally, and asked me a bunch of questions, etc.
But I think assessment will be different depending on the clinic/hospital you go to and the doctor you see.

I never had an assessment he told me from what my mom told him and from what i told him he said that the only thing that fits is schizophreniform cuz it can appear with no cause and since i dont do drugs or alcohol it cant be caused by those.

Yeah... The makers of Abilify should just rot in the firey pits o hell. The drug does nothing except make you numb or reeeeeaaaalllllllllly agitated. At least, that's what happened to me and my sister. I feel ya.

Haha, pscyhiatrists love putting labels on people, and the moment they don't fit them they go nuts.
