Pretty sure it means that the topic is a popular thread.

look at the bottom. there's a key. on the style vBulletin, it's like this but basically the words are the same

thanks to all. i was pretty sure that was what it meant, but i was just making sure. but the weird thing is that one of my threads only has 6 replies, and yet it's on fire? Im pretty sure that 6 replies wouldn't make it popular. Anyone have an answer?
