Have you all been on facebook? And saw the chat box, well I'm sure you have!
Well let's try to make it possible for Virtual Teen, why not!

I have seen it multiple times on vBulletin I believe it deals with coding but, :yeah: may be possible.

Help users see who's actually online through out the forum or friends.
This would be actually better then keep going back and forth to PM's
This would help you explain quickly then normal and prompt you're actual message style up.

There's a chatroom (link in the bar at the top), and you can see who's on VT at the bottom of the index page.

The modification is called CometChat. It is integrated with vBulletin, costs $59 one time and makes a little Facebook style chat panel on the bottom of the screen. It's not that we can't do it, it's that we don't want to. It wouldn't be appropriate for VT and would give leeway to a lot of misuse.

How would it be much different than the chatroom we have now?

Who even pays for addons like this? The Admins?

One on one live chat is much more difficult to moderate.

Adding onto Jon's point, It would also give out the wrong message about what the site is about. We're not about social networking, its a help site.

Oh, I didn't realize it would be a one-on-one chat. Then no, I'm not for this. PMing is sufficient for VT, I think. This isn't Facebook.

Since this user is banned and this add on is something I wouldn't condone regardless of what anyone said. As been said many times, this forum is for the purposes of this site are not to have 1000x ways to "privately communicate" that's why all new members have to have 100 posts before they can pm because it has been proven time and time again that people cannot handle themselves with certain privileges, so they are revoked until they are earned, which to be honest, is quite fair because the people that do use this site for legitimate reasons deserve to use this site, it's just a shame people can't conduct themselves appropriately enough to handle the full privilege. There are lot's of ways to communicate on this site and it's not easy on the staff because, a lot of the communication on the site is moderated or seen by administrators. The OP is banned, but I thought I'd just make it solid point.

Case closed.
