Hon, you answered your own question. That's your inspiration. You don't wanna end up like your mother. Think about how her life got went (assuming not very well) and think about what you want your life to be, and compare it to hers.

If it's an issue, find a therapist or someone who you can talk to. If it's this bad now, it's probably gonna spiral out of control quite fast, so the sooner you seek help, the sooner you'll stop and the easier it'll be.

Yeaaah, I'm in 4 years of smoking and while it's not actually physically addictive, once you get that high into your system you realize that you don't want it to go away. I wouldn't be as worried about weed though as much as drinking and smoking cigarettes. Those will REALLY ruin your life and your health. Damn I'm a hypocrite :/

Hon, you answered your own question.

Nailed it, my mom as well as most of her family is composed of alcoholics, luckily my mom has been sober eight years. She is also what you can call the most accomplished of her siblings, alas she is also the most stressed/anxious . But you don't need alc/weed to be relaxed, she's just an uptight *****.

My point is that you can find a role model/inspiration (depending on the character) to aspire to and make you think if what you're doing is steering you down the wrong road. Being on the cautious side is always better.

Weed is more of a mental addiction, as the previous poster said once you get high you like it and want to stay that way. It's just the pleasantry of it, but you're not addicted. Go a couple days without smoking, like a week and see what happens. You will most likely forget what it feels like to be high by then, at that point you just remember it being fun and want that experience again. But it is completely controllable. And when you do choose (key word for it not being addiction) to start again you have had a nice little tolerance break :yeah:.

Alcohol and cigarettes leave you with nasty headaches when you are going through withdrawl (hangover). When you crave a cigarette, you get the shakes. Much worse than pot, and everything else just gets worse from there. That's why I can't ever imagine myself getting into real drugs.

A wise hippy once told me that cocaine is like having sex with the most beautiful woman in the world, only to have you husband who you weren't aware of to burst into the bedroom right before you finish. And he's an MLA fighter. And he beats the f*cking sh*t out of you.

^That's definitely not pro-drug propaganda, it's just downright scary.
