I was torn between here and `cutting and self harm` son w/e.
Would a girl be turned off because I cut?

It's something that would detour girls from you if you immediately go "HEY BABY I CUT MYSELF!" But most girls, if you give it time and court them for a while, won't leave you when they find out, and will more or less be inclined to try and help you stop.

It depends. I find that people who struggle with things like self-harm, drugs, alcohol, addictions, etc. often have a deeper level of understanding both of themselves and of others than most. Obviously these things are often misunderstood by society at large, however if you let them get to know you, it's a different story.
If both you and your partner are recovering from something similar, it certainly can add another dimension of connection with that sort of a mutual understanding, because you both know what it's like to be where the other is/has been. That was all worded really shittily.
Both my girlfriend and I are recovering cutters, and I find that our relationship has an added layer to it because of that. We both understand the other on a much deeper level than most couples who've been dating for a short a time as we have been.

Personally i would never turn off a guy for self harm but some girls mightn't fell the same, but if it bothered a girl i'd honestly advise you to go find a girl that doesn't mind and would help you
