I was wandering how can you know if your strait or gay without experimenting?
Sure you think that chocolate in your favorite type of icecream but that's the only kind you have ever had. Try orange, vanilla, cheery, peach, before you put you self under one label. Experiencing does not make you gay, if you experiment and come out strait on the other side then you know for a fact that you are strait. Am I the only one to have come to this conclusion?

virgins know that they're straight or gay or bi because they are surrounded by people of both sexes and can tell which one they're attracted to. Your ice cream analogy is flawed because you imply that someone who doesn't experiment doesn't come in contact with those of the same sex.

So, you're saying that all straight men must have sex with other guys before knowing they're straight?
I don't object to this on a fantasy level, but it's not realistic.

I am not saying that in order know whether your are gay or strait you need to experiment. I am saying that if you experiment and come out strait on the other side then you know for a fact that you are strait. And that people think experimenting makes you gay, when really your just making sure that chocolate is your favorite flavor. If you catch my drift.

Yeah that makes sense. Lots of people don't experiment and know they are straight. It's just who you're attracted to and that comes pretty easily, if you weren't attracted to someone then obviously you would do nothing about it so I think you can know your sexuality without experimenting.

Well if you new you were straight then there would be no reason to experiment anyway...

Having sex with a girl would kind of gross me out, I know I wouldn't enjoy even kissing one cause I'm just not attracted at all anymore. I don't see what there is to question... it wouldn't be experimenting, just a premeditated unenjoyable experience

I don't agree with you.
I am not attracted by girls at all and I couldn't even approach one and start flirting, simply because I would gross out and block, let alone bringing it to an other level...
You don't need to experiment to know whether or not you'd like it because if we followed your logic you'd need to get sexual with a kid (and grannies, trannies, bondage fetishists, etc...) in order not to like it and then classify yourself as a completely fine straight male, which is something extraordinary senseless.
You know for a fact you like who you like and you are not attracted by others, you don't need confirmation.

I watched this youtube video about knowing your sexuality, and I liked the analogy that they used. They said that it's kind of like trying different foods. It might seem more logical that you would have to actually eat each food before deciding whether or not you like it. But maybe the smell of the food grosses you out, or the looks of it doesn't interest you. It's the same thing with gender. If you think sex with a guy would be gross, and you don't find guys attractive, then chances are you don't need to have sex with one to prove that you aren't interested in them.
If your theory were correct, then people wouldn't know they were straight until they experimented, either. Most straight people I know have never 'tried out' other sexualities. They know that they are straight because the idea of doing anything with the same sex disgusts them, and they're not interested. It doesn't seem like it would work that way, but that's just how it is.

How do you know fire burns? Are you one of those kids that puts their hand into the fire to find out?
I know I am straight, how? Because when I see a girl I like, I get a boner. I do not think I would even raise a smile at the naked male form, (well maybe a giggle), never mind a boner. Your comparison in your original post is very flawed.

I don't have to go around having sex with every gender and orientation under the sun to figure out what I like. I like girls, but I like guys more. Ba-bam.

I really can't give you any reasons, apart from you just know.
When I was younger, I just plain knew, without experimenting or anything like that.

It isn't about sex.
I know it's hard to fathom as a teenager with roaring hormones, but there's more to it than sex.
If I had sex with my ex husband, I could have possibly enjoyed myself. Does that make me straight? Fuck no. I find manly chests, facial hair, and dicks a huge fucking turn-off and breasts a huge turn-on. If we make it about sexual attraction even. But the biggest part of love for me, of course, is emotional attraction, and then you're forgetting physical. About 95% (being generous there) of men turn me the fuck off. I can be friends with them, but in any other way I just find them... nasty.
Of course, I've had sex with men before, but I was even straight back then.
