Depends on your BIOS. Usually you don't need to, anyways.
If you do, your processor generates more heat, and too much can fry it. So be careful.
You use MacOS? I don't believe Apple has made it possible, I'm afraid.

That would be BIOS, not OS.
And yes, you cannot overclock on a Mac.

I was actually talking about my HP..(My mac has problems even turning on now :\)
It looks like HP disabled the option, for obvious reasons. Ahh well, I need a new computer anyways :P

Well the post is "noob level maximum", and overclocking is something I wouldn't really advise you do if you really consider yourself a n00b. I have already fried and almost burned one processor, no thanks not again. Stick with how it is.

I think I am planning on upgrading the processor to more modern standards anyways, or a new computer entirely. Thanks.

Yeah I wouldn't dare overlclock my CPU but some CPUS actually get faster with use, It happed with mine, I had to break it in before i could play Portal2 without lag. and Oh jolly was portal2 fun to play with lag spamming itself (Actually the lag seemed potentialy deadly to my laptop.)
