Ok for the past three years ive been beggin my parents for facebook. My dad said not until ur acully 13 years old. On friday i turned 13 and i said im gettin facebook. And then they said not before we go over the rules. So on friday night they went over all the fuckin annoying rules. So then i went on my pc to make an account and my mums like; your not gettin facebopk and then changef the subject. I asked her for an accout when i was done with everything. She once again changed the subject and got super pissed at me. Then the most recent fight this mornimg i said; mum its sunday i wanna get facebook before school tommorow. She then was silent for about 30secs and said; can u get on ut bike and go get some bread from the shops. I just got up and its super cold outside and i said no. Then she cracked it at me and blammed it on the computer and facebook. Then my dad joined in the
conversation and said; when i was ur age i used to get on my bike and get stuff. Then i got super pissed and said im not u dad im a complete diffrent person than u and look at the time! Then i walked off and started typing this. I also wanna get facebook because im in year 7 and a bunch of new kids came to the school and most have facebook. My freind got it when he turned 13 exactly. So what are my parents doing this. Are they overprotective because my parents are still living in old generations. Awnsers would be apreciatef and thx for reading

Well maybe they just want to make sure your safe. There are lots of creepers on the internet now a days. Maybe wait to see if they cone round to the idea in a few days. Tell them it would be good for you because all your fiends are easy to get to and if you forget homework or something like that then you would be able to ask them. I don't know I just waited it out and eventually they came round, then my 10 year old sister (at the time) ended up getting it as well which pissed me off.

Mmkay well I'm not sure if this has anything to do with puberty... but
Use incognito mode as they said and also, if they are so oold-fashioned, why would you let them see THIS website in your history (with questions about masturbation and self-harm) than Facebook? really?

my first question in mind was why ask parents for facebook account?
if you want it you can get it
unless they know that it could be super addictive and they don't want to you be stuck in from of the monitor all your free time

I'm only being harsh because I think you need it.
Calm the fuck down and relax yourself.
Seriously, it's a facebook account. I understand the frustration but there's much bigger problems in the world dude, relax. You're 13. THIRTEEN! Your parents are still in charge, they're not comfortable with you having one, clearly they don't think you're mature enough to handle the huge responsibility of protecting your identity online and frankly, judging by the way you're acting, I really don't blame them.

I thought my parents were horrible! Guess they arent. Well maybe make one and make sure its a fake name? I had to wait 4 years to get one. Facebook is fun at first but then gets old quick...

Since when did people need permission to use facebook, just keep it discrete and don't tell them.

Explain to them why. Some parents just aren't particularly tech-savvy and only hear about the worst that happen on there; I hope you know your boundaries and just be smart about it. Don't beg or argue or fight like it's your right to have Facebook. You're a minor and they have authority as parents. They're there for your safety, they probably don't understand or see Facebook the same way you do.
