How do i tell if a girl likes me?

Yeh the title of this thread sais it all. So anyway i really like this girl in my class. The problem is i dont know if she likes me. I know i have to let her kmow i lile her but we dont talk all the time. Only during classes with stupid teachers. Shes also talks to the guys in front of her in class and cant help to think that she just likes talkimg to me as a freind. Do i have to start more conversations to let her know i like her. Cause usally she gets a rubber band out of my pencial case and thats how the cobversation starts. So what are some Other ways to tell if a girl likes you. Also when a girl likes you is it easy to tell or hard to tell???

he is right all girls are complicated they may say you are like a brother to them but then they turnaround and ask you out. Also, you should try to ask but dont be abrupt with it.
