Does anybody have any tips for how to completely clear the history on my Mac computer. I usually press the clear history button, but I'm not sure if that completely clears it.

despite popular belief, there is no surefire way to completely clear history. but the simplest way to clear as much as possible is to go into, i'm assuming safari on a mac, and go safari, reset safari. Select what all you want to reset and hit reset. hope that helps.

I'd say go to where they let you delete the cookies, cache and history. Does the trick on my phone and computer. Hope this helps.

Which browser are you using? Most modern browsers have a "Private Browsing" that does not keep cache, history, cookies, etc. It can be turned on thru (Browser Name)/Prefrences

That wasn't his question. Most likely to clear history it will either be in the options, or you could try Cmd+Shift+Del to delete history. Or, as mentioned above, CCleaner will delete temporary files, history etc, and that's a very good piece of software which i recommend.

There actually is. If you find the directory(aka "folder") with all of the browser files, you can delete it completely. On Linux, the directory is ~/.mozilla/(profile)/, where profile is the random numbers and letters.
The history file is "places.sqlite", and all other files such as cache, cookies, etc all have self-explanatory file names. I have no idea about MacOS, but it's probably similar to the Linux path. It will be a "hidden" folder, and Finder probably doesn't let you see those.

The only way you can completely remove history is using a program like ccleaner . I actually two c's then leaner . Like this c c leaner . But all one word. Also completely reinstalling your hard drive. With a a disc. Just like when you firs
t for your comp. Like new . Clearing history does nothing. It can all be found on your hard drive.
