I've been prescribed abilify for my schizophreniform, how long will it be before I notice a difference? If you take it what side effects did you experience when you first started taking it? If I get side effects how long before they stop? I'm sorry for asking so many questions I just want to know what to expect before I take it.

I took abilify 2 years ago, it made me VERY ridiculously fidgety and uncomfortable. But they gave me Cogentine to counteract that. It numbs you a lot... like, you'll feel like you want to cry, but you can't. You feel it in the back of your throat but you just can't.
I was on it from March 2010 to December 2010 and didn't notice that much improvement, but it varies person to person.
Why didn't you ask you psychiatrist this information?

You say you've had a headache?...
"Abilify is not for use in psychotic conditions that are related to dementia. Abilify may cause heart failure, sudden death, or pneumonia in older adults with dementia-related conditions.
Stop using Abilify and call your doctor at once if you have the following symptoms: fever with stiff muscles and rapid heart rate; uncontrolled muscle movements; symptoms that come on suddenly such as numbness or weakness, severe headache, and problems with vision, speech, or balance. Abilify may impair your thinking or reactions."
Doesn't sound like something I'd willingly put into my body.
