I'd say that there's a time when each could be best...like tampons if I didn't want the "bulk" of a pad, and pads if I thought I wouldn't be able to change them until more than 8 hours had passed...

Pads feel like adult diapers. They're cumbersome and uncomfortable and go wrong a lot more than tampons do.

I like tampons better. Not to be crass, but I get clots the size of hamsters so its better to pull them out with the tampon then to have something like that on the pad 0_0

Definitely tampons....So much more convenient and comfortable...I sometimes almost forget that I am using them.

I do however use pads at night, just for peace of mind.

I definitely prefer tampons. It's nice not really feeling something down there, and they work well with athletics. I do use pads at night though, just to ease my mind. I will also use them at times where I don't think I will be able to change the tampon soon enough.

Tampons..O.B. small but very effective. Never had a problem. Pads are like weraing a pillow. Besides, I wear thongs, g-strings or go commando, so pads won't work very well!

I don't really like either one and they are both uncomfortable but I use pads because I tried tampons and It just never feels right so I gave up on that. The good part for me though is that my periods only last for 3 days :) I'm so lucky.

If I had to choose I would say Tampons, but I hate both so I recently started using a Lunnete Menstrual Cup because I can leave it in for 12 hrs at a time and not have to worry about it.

I've been using pads for the four or so years I've had my period.

I've tried tampons a couple of times, but nooo way. It hurts and will hurt until I learn to properly put in them in, but I don't want to learn because it hurts until I learn to properly put them in.

Pads aren't so bad. I've generally perfected the position in which they're most comfortable for me. Most of the time, I can't feel them at all. A 'pro' is that you can see if they need to be changed.

Tampons are a lot cleaner and a lot more comfortable, but I still get squeamish inserting/removing one, and I'm really afraid of the potential side effects because I don't feel comfortable changing it at school. Generally I use pads more because they're not nearly as scary, but it makes me feel beyond disgusting. I just put up with it and clean when I can.

I don't really have any certain preference, and the pads I use are like they're not even there when put in the right position. Anyways, when I first got my period I used pads for years, and then I used tampons for.. a bit more than a year perhaps? (although I went with both some of the times)..

And now, I'm back with pads because I have a contraceptive implant which caused me to almost stop having my periods. I've had it twice this year, and when I get it it's usually such a low flow that I can't even use tampons.
