I am hitting the barrier where it is now becoming a pain to take my insulin. I don't want to do it any more, I am pissed off at injecting 3 times a day, not being able to eat sweets (candy), cakes and all the other things that I used to like. It is really getting me down now.
I Don't want to be a diabetic anymore :(

I'm sorry about that Kyle. We all have our differences. I hope you end up learning to live with it better.

Have you spoken to your physician about this...I do not have diabetes myself but I do have my mother who is a Diabetes Educator....
She says that with healthy dieting and exercise you could, possibly in time, be able to reduce the amount of insulin.
Please, talk with your physician, they can help you.

That's type 2 diabetes. Since Kyle is a teenager, his is most likely type 1, which is the body's inability to produce insulin, not the cells' resilience towards it.
I'm sorry you have to deal with that shit kyle, I would gladly switch places with you for what it's worth.
You'll learn to deal though, I promise

Make sure that you can do that, and that is it still healthy.

I am sorry but making a generalized statement, similar to the one I bolded up top is not true. And if he were to have Type 1 like you have assumed it can become deadly if not treated properly...insulin is required
Here is a valid and widely used resource, used by many physicians and one I use myself often in my studies stating:
Type 1 diabetes happens most often in children and young adults but can appear at any age.Provided by the National Library of Medicine--> Link here (http://vsearch.nlm.nih.gov/vivisimo/cgi-bin/query-meta?query=type+i+diabetes&v%3Aproject=nlm-main-website)
Also provided by the National Diabetes Education Program it is stated in one of the more recent publications:
Type 2 diabetes is a serious disease. It used to be that only adults got type 2 diabetes. Now some kids and teens who are inactive and weigh too much are also getting type 2 diabetes. You cannot catch diabetes from others. The National Diabetes Education Program is operated by the Center for Disease Control (CDC.)--> Link here (http://www.ndep.nih.gov/publications/PublicationDetail.aspx?PubId=154)
A thread was posted on her some time ago asking what would happen if a member were to stop taking their insulin and I figured you might want to read it (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=116722) as well.

This is something you need to talk to your physician about and your parents...you are underage and unless you are an emancipated minor you do not have the ability to make these decisions on your own, without the content of your guardians...What you are doing is immature and potentially deadly
Live a healthy life or eat some sweets and possibly die because you cannot restrain yourself, you make the choice...

YES I have "Onset Juvenile Diabetes" which is Type 1. I have had all the tests to see what type it was, fasting tests, glucose tolerance tests etc, and it has been confirmed as Type 1. There is no family history of this, and I have had several Hypo episodes (blood sugar too low) since taking insulin, as it is done on a "trial and error" technique.
I would not wish diabetes on my worst enemy, it is horrible. You have to check your own sugar levels at least 4 times a day, by a pin prick in the finger, and using a meter. This causes numbness/de sensitivity in your fingers. I inject in one of 4 places, belly, thighs, arms or buttocks (parents have to do that one), this leaves a mark on the skin, and eventually will lead to scaring.
I am really not coping with having to do this every day, and is giving me bad thoughts, I cannot go on doing this for the rest of my life, so I can either stop taking medication and suffer a long agonizing death, or listen to the bad thoughts

OR, you could just suck it up buttercup, learn how to deal with it and go on with life...if you cannot even do this how do you expect to become successful or even become anything...

Are you overweight/don't eat healthy? I know people that had their diabetes cured by weight loss. However, I am talking about type 2 diabetes. Is that what you have?

At times...it seems like the easiest way is to give up. You sit there thinking those thoughts that tell you..just stop..stop all of this because I don't like it...What would this world be like if everyone just completely gave up because something "seemed" too hard to keep doing. As harsh as this may sound, these are the things that define a person.
Kyle, as frustrating as it is for you to adapt to this change of being so dependent on insulin or painful pricking or scars...don't you realize that you've been given a chance to continue living already? This may be completely blunt, but think of all the people in the world who don't even know they have diabetes. Who don't even have access to that insulin or hell the opportunity to eat what you eat. The bad thoughts you have are a test. They test you on your inner strength and will. The ability to choose what should be done regardless of how hard it is to continue doing.
Because I can't compare what you've been through, with what I've been through, I'll simply just say that we all have our own unique problems we are dealing with and at times they can be overbearing. We just have to tell ourselves to keep going (Just keep swimming as Dori would say).
Sorry for the long post.

I agree with this.
Kyle its something you HAVE to do in order to survive. I mean you have a choice. Life or Death.
Maybe you prefer Death, thats fine I am sure only your family and friends will miss you.
Or
You could suck it up, pick up your toys that you have thrown out of the pram and deal with it. Live your life with the cards you have been dealt with and continue your life and enjoy your time on earth.
