Do any of you iPhone 4S(teve) use the Siri feature? How does it compare to a traditional voice control on a competing brand?

I am just wondering if you guys use it, and if you reccomend it. I may sometime in the future be switching to ATT, and then get an iPhone.

Takka!

uses and also entertainment. I think. You can say: were can i find a mcdonalds? And it will show you
The closest ones. I just find it a fun and lazy way to go about with your phone.

Sorry man, I didn't see it, completely missed it.

I haven't used Siri since I got the phone. I used it for probably a week and got bored of it. At the moment I see it as a good laugh and light entertainment amongst friends or family but that's it, it's just not advanced enough to do things properly an efficiently enough. It's also still mostly suited for the American public so until they properly modify it for the rest of the world, it's not going to be one hundred percent useful. Some basic tasks are also a lot quicker to do by hand as well rather than asking it. It has potential, but needs major improving.

I find it quite useful actually, it always recognizes what I say which is good.

I often use it for reminders, for example I might say "remind me to hand in my coursework when I arrive at school" and it does :D

Which to me is quicker than loading up the reminders app, typing in what I want to be reminded about and then choosing a location/time for the reminder to trigger at.

That's the only time I use it though

By the way; you CAN NOT ask for directions or ask for siri to locate something on a map if you don't live in the USA - not yet anyway.

Basically this. They have the cheek to advertise "Find me the nearest italian resturant" yet it doesnt work in the UK. My mother owns one.

Not exactly. You made a thread which lists and provides info on 5 alternatives to Siri for android. He is asking who has an iPhone and uses the Siri feature :P

I have an iPhone 4S, Siri is great but I've never been too into voice control on any phone I've ever had, so I tend to forget that I even have the option lol.

I used it back in October every day because i thought it was so cool. I don't use it anymore, expect in the car, the only nice thing siri can do is play the song/album/artist that you tell it to, comes in handy when im driving

OK, so I've now got Siri working on my 4th gen iPod touch. My verdict?

Awful.

It can't recognize half of my words. The answers I get back take too long to be retrieved from the internet. A lot of questions just asked to me browse the web, something about googling it or something. Also, it really does lack a personality. And the downside that it doesn't recognize the UK locations (mentioned above).

This isn't something which is a problem for me. I also used my mothers iPhone 4S. It was horrible!
