Ok, So I run Ubuntu 11.10 and I can install steam on it, the issue is that the games don't like to run and end up blackscreening as soon as they open in a new window. Any ideas what I can do to fix this? I know i should upgrade Wines host program but it would take me about a couple days to download the 200+ MB file. any ideas what I can do to get them to work until i can do the update?

Wine, like it says in the README etc, will never have full support for all Windows applications. Of course, you first checked the appdb and searched your favourite search engine to see if other people had been able to or not. Right...?

Well, I do know that if I get the skidrow versions of games they work just fine on my laptop and have searched "how to play steam games on ubuntu 11.10" they can run steam games just fine but for some reason they all black screen on my laptop. I should have a enough power i have Two Dual-core Pentium CPUs in my laptop, each CPU can run at 2.3 GHz of power I originally only had one Dual-core Pentium running at 2.3 GHz. (HP messed up and upgraded my laptop by accident.)
