I've been brought up as a Christian, and i go to church and pray and everything.

But lately i've been thinking about these questions:

What says that I should believe my religion over any other religion? Why is my my religion better?

If anyone could give me some advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey Daniel,

I'm a Christian, but not the kind that thinks everyone should believe the same things that I do. I know not everyone is going to be a Christian. People who are Christian like to say they were called to be a follower of Jesus. So why can't other people be called to other religions, or to no religion at all? Religion is a choice, and it shouldn't make you feel as if you have to be a part of it if that's not your choosing.

First you have to answer a simple question, except it really isn't simple :P Do you want to be religious? If you can imagine your life without some kind of belief system, and if you feel like religion isn't for you, then that's completely fine. But if you still are interested in being religious, I suggest learning about different religions. Research religions that you've heard of, or ones that interest you but that you don't know much about. If you're set on being a religious person, then maybe the problem is that you're practicing the wrong one.

That being said, Christianity may very well be 'your religion.' It's normal to doubt what is taught in your religion, and even the most admirable Christian leaders have done so. If Christianity feels like the religion you want to follow, there's still always going to be doubts that pop up now and then. It doesn't mean you don't believe. It just means that you're unsure at the moment. That's totally normal.

Another thing is that, despite the fact that I'm a Christian, I don't believe my religion is the only right one, or the only possibility. I'm open to the fact that I might be wrong. I don't believe in persuading others to believe what I believe, because who knows if I'm right? There's a difference between belief and fact, and to me it's important to recognize it.

well, Christianity isn't exactly a religion (atleast with my understanding) it's a relationship with Jesus Christ who died so that you could be redeemed and be forgiven of your sins, so that's where it's different, it isn't just following some guide lines laid down by the religious leader, it is pursuing a relationship with the living God

Why is my my religion better? who said it was better than any other religion?

Being religious is completely your choice. your parents might make you go to church and all that garbage, but that doesn't mean you have to believe in it.
Personally, religions regarding an ultimate power such as god, buddha, ect, is ridiculous. Sure some are interesting, i've studied a few just for fun, but never the less ridiculous.

Hi there Daniel.

I am also Christian. Now, a few things that we face, as we have religion. One, we really don't know absolutely for sure. We are a blind faith. We however need to realize that we are who we are. The bible doesn't make complete sense to me, but it makes the most. This is why I believe in Christ. Now, as for your second question, God said he is the way. God is better for us. In public, however, we should not go around, telling people what to do. We are not in control of them. They must find (or not find) their own way to Him. You might want to look into other religions, find the one that makes the most sense to you.

Talk to me whenever you want, bud.
