was wondering about my fellow countrymen whether your experiences were similar to mine and all my friends growing up. are you circumcised and have you ever brought it up with your mates? are they all cut too or mostly uncut? personally most of my friends are uncut but a couple with american parents are cut.

anyone else have any experiences with their mates?

I'm from NSW and out of the mates who's penises I have seen most are uncut... Except for one Sudanese guy I know, he was circumcised. I myself am uncut but I still feel like we are a minority in Australia, since most guys that I have over heard talking about it or have asked have said that they are circumcised, me and a few mates had a conversation with one of our friends who's a girl and she said she has only seen a few uncut penises, the rest were all circumcised.

I think its regional and class based too... i went to a public school and so did all my friends and they are all pretty much uncut and we born at the end of the 80s. but a few mates from a rich private school were mostly the opposite with their mates.

from my experience guys around my age and a bit older (20's and later) seem to be maybe 1 in 3 or 4 cut in Victoria. i dunno if that's just a reflection of the 80's or the trend in general. i think NSW and QLD are much higher than Vic is/was

Most boys I have seen in my grade in the locker room, showers, in a relationship with etc have been uncut. Some Catholic boys were cut, but I think that is becoming a more and more outdated practice. The most commonly cut are Jewish people (admittedly not many in Australia, but a few) and people from overseas countries, mainly US.

I have never really brought it up with friends, maybe jokingly, but I think since most people are uncut it doesn't really bring up much of a convo.

I myself am cut, I've found a friend of mine born in '94 is cut too, but a friend born in '95 is uncut and my cousins, one born in '95 and another born in '97 are both uncut. I've seen it as after '94ish parents stopped choosing to cut maybe?

I think it was around the 80's when circumcision was declining.

My group of mates are all from the end of the 80s and uncut. after footy practice in the showers last year it looked like probably 1 in 5 was cut and they are around my age

I'm uncut but my mates are a mixed bag as I have a quite a few Jewish friends because of where I live and school I went to. Other non-Jew or non-Islamic friends I assume are probably uncut. Never really talked about it with mates.. not really sure how to? Except for one friend (he and his bro both uncut) not sure how we got on to it but we were talking about all our jewish friends having their bar mitzvahs.

im uncut and word around the school and according to stats. etc. circumsicion is generally phased out in australia now that it been proven that there's no real medical reasons (health benefits) in doig so. the states however still do it heaps in modern society and so do jews

I know a few guys that are circumcised, all of them done at birth. Me personally, I'm from a Chinese background so I'm uncut but I do have a couple of asian friends who are cut.

Funny you say that, my old school was filled with Jewish people as it was the local primary school.

But yeh I know of other friends at schools who crack jokes "half dick Jews" and the like... Not particularly funny, but it shows that the majority must be uncut then.

99% Of my mates are uncut, think it's more common to be uncut here than it is in America. Iv'e heard of a couple of mates being cut but that's about the extent of it. I have talked about it with a few friends but nothing to serious, no ones really interested in who is cut and who isn't in my group of mates, that's never been a curiosity of mine or any of them. if any questions are going to be brought up amongst us, it will always be about size or wanking. They will be the main topics.

I'm not from Australia but what I have read most believe that all the US is cut, which is changing I think....I'm cut, not that I had much say on the matter, as most of my friends are but from things that are happening, I believe, unless for religious reasons, or an old doctor, a lot of baby boys are not being cut....at least I hope so that they will have the decision when they get older

I think it depends on your state too..some are like 20% still being cut (QLD), others are like 2-3% (Tasmania/WesternAustralia/Canberra/NT).
