I was wondering how you can tell if your an insomniac? Because I never sleep allot, I can't. I pull all-nighters all the time and if I do go to bed it’s usually not till around 3 or 4am (its 3:40am now and I have no intrest in sleeping). If I go to bed at 4 I’m up at 8, 8:30am, 9 at the latest (five hours tops). Do you guys/gals have the same problem?

I wake up about 2 hours earlier than I should and also I usualy wake up in the night and spend ages getting back to sleep. Also takes me a long time to get to sleep aswel.

Sometimes I get acute blasts of insomnia where I just can't sleep. I'm having one now and I havn't slept at all in three days. So I'm all groggy and cranky.

Annoying isn't it. All you can do is try during the day (try really hard to get to sleep and you never will) exercise, eat properly, do something that requires concentration, those sort of boring things.

Or you could just give up and become one of us

every dream i can think of has involved someone trying to kill me and chase me. its fucking scarey coz they are people i know or strange humanlike animals and they never say anything they just want to kill me and take me away. they al move in a stupid scream kinda way.
anyway.

I used to have really bad nightmares everynight, then one night I was sick of it so I faced my fear's, I know it sounds corney but it's true. That one nightmare taught me to control my dreams (lucid dream). So now its like my consious mind is always there, if my dreams get bad I just either pull out so it feels like I'm just watching a movie, or with just a thought I change it. I don't have nightmares anymore. So next time when your dreaming and your about to die look at where you are, at how ridiculous the whole thing is and tell yourself its not real, if your still not convinced die then come back. My first time I kept telling myself it isn't real but it wasn't working so I let myself die, then I came back and in complete control. So now all I do is remember its a dream and I decide what happens in my dreams.

I leant how to do that along time ago, but over the past year or so I just plain old can't fall alseep, I don't know why. Take for instance now it's 4:14am and I can't sleep.

Face your fears, it helps.
The only thing to fear is fear itself.

i think there are different types of insomnia. one that goes for months at a time, one that goes for weeks at a time and one that goes for years at a time. i'm not sure though, i read it on a website once. as for you sarah darling, i suggest you try waking up right after you nightmare and then think about how funny it is that someone was trying to kill you. I had a dream once where i was locked inside my house and huge monster was trying to kill me and my family and i couldn't wake up from it. when it was over i just sort of thought back to it and laughed my head off. it made me feel better. hope it works for you.

I have A LOT of trouble sleeping, I have recently become nocturnal, I wake up as it is getting dark and am up all night until I finally go to bed at dawn. Sleeping all day can really piss off a lot of people. So I have to resort to insomniac like behaviour.

Right now is a good example:

I am in Engand and it is 05:54am according to my clock, I have had no sleep yet but if I go to sleep now I probably won't wake up until 5pm and I have to meet people at about 11am so I have decided to pull an all-nighter.

This can not be good for me.

i can NEVER sleep. and its really annyoing me. one time i heard on the TV baout insomnia, and instantly i said, thats me. my mum never seems to care about the fact i cant sleep at night, and tells me that i dont do enough in the day to get you tired, BS! Like last night i went to bed at 1:00am, after reading from 12, then at about 2, i still couldnt sleep so i decided to draw, then i couldnt still sleep, so i turned on my fone and played a game and called *someone  you know how, then after a half hour i got to sleep
