Brothers Die in Separate Crashes Hours Apart

AP
PROSPECT, Maine (June 10) - Two brothers were killed in separate highway crashes in this coastal town just hours apart.

Adrian Basford, 52, of Winterport, died Saturday afternoon when his motorcycle went out of control on U.S. 1A, crossed a driveway and struck an embankment. State police said Basford was traveling too fast while rounding a curve.

His brother, Wallace Basford, 48, then died just before midnight in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 1. His van failed to negotiate a left turn as he was coming off a bridge and slammed into a wall, the Waldo County Sheriff's Department said.

Wallace Basford had gotten word of his brother's death that day. Trooper Stephen Hills, who investigated the motorcycle accident, said Wallace Basford told him that the brothers' father had recently died.

That's strange.

When my mom went for her eye test, the receptionist talked us afterwords and told us a story about the time her appendix burst when she was 11. Her right side was in severe pain and she couldn't keep anything down. She went to the hospital.
The screwy thing is, her twin sister had the same pain at around the same time, but she didn't have anything wrong with her appendix and it went away with no signs of what it actually was.

Both of these could of been coincidences, but I think it's fun to wonder if there might be some weird powers in the world.
