Im 16, im turning 17 in october, And there is this girl, she works at the video store i go to, she is like 22, And i would really like to ask her out, im not being stupid either, im very mature for my age, and i have alot of like experience, But the thought of rejection, or being laughed at makes me shudder and feel really cold, she is so pretty though and i cant stop thinking about her, what should i do? :(

dont ask her. you dont know her and a lot of girls dont date guys they dont know. and you say she's pretty, a lot of pretty girls already have a boyfriend. and most girls dont date guys who are several years younger than them. and its illegal, if she dates you she's a petafile, so most girls wouldnt date a guy whos a minor if theyre an adult. unless they were actually a petafile, then would you really want to date a petafile? the odds that she would say yes and your relationship would actually be good are very slim. but, hey, if you want to take the chance its up to you.

if she was your age, i would say you should just be a man and ask her out. because if a guy doesnt even have the balls to ask me out, i dont want to date him.

And there's the fact that sex with her would most likely be considered rape on her part in the eye's of the law (cuz dude...your 17. Even if she said yes, it wouldn't be legal, and would be alot more complicated than two 17 year olds (which is "illegal" but not considered rape)).

ok to be more specific, i know her quite well, we always talk heaps when i see her, and we get on really well, and im 16..... thats not illegel (bad spelling) im not underage, and i know heaps of people that started dating when they had like 4-8 year age difference and most of them are married now, and im not aiming to sleep with her, i just want to get to know her better than just scanning the videos i rent out, ya know

in australia the age of consent is 16. so i can't see why a person over 18 couldn't have sex with a person under 18 as long as they wern't under 16.

i kinda disagree with the law because if you turn 18 and your girlfriend/boyfriend is still 17, its even more illegal to have sex until they turn 18, but you also legally cant have sex if youre both 17. yeah, idk theres got to be a good reason, i just cant think of it. it just seems like theres something not right if it were legal for a 16 year old to have sex with a 40 year old. the only good reason i have is that it makes it illegal to be a prostitute if youre under 18 in the state of nevada.

i sorta disagree, you say she is not going to say yes, it should be: the possibility her of saying yes is not likely


but man, just do it if you really like her, but like someone else said it might turn your friendship weird or in the wrong direction. but if you really like her go for it

if a girl is willing to go out with you with that age difference, through all the criticizm from everyone, there would have to be something wrong with her.
