Hello All,
My Best Female Friend is going through a tough time at the moment, and I need some ways to be able to help.
She is suffering with depression, and has also turned at times to drugs, to stop her from hurting herself. The depression is due to some things within her home life. Although when shes at school, she is always happy and with her friends and I dont get much of a chance to talk with her. Its only really on Facebook.
I just want to know if you guys have any ideas on how I can help her with the situation. Im Worried that she may soon turn to self-harm.
Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sam

Try and invite her out, or over to your place and try and fun, make you forget any pain she is going through, or simply write to her on facebook. You being their makes you a very good person and friend, always be there for her

That is probably the best piece of advice anyone is going to give you, but I'm not sure how uptight your parents are about her going to your house.
The fact that she can act, if not truly be, happy at school shows that she is making an effort to not be completely depressed. It also means that she enjoys your company. therefore, spend more time with her, and if she wants to, try to get her confidential and anonymous help (so that her parents don't find out.)

Tell her how important she is to you, she seems like a great girl.

Thankyou Everyone :)
And Yes, My Parents are a little up-tight about a girl coming over. But Yes, Thankyou for all the great advice and I will certainly put this into practise.
Cheers,
Sam

I hope it works out for your friend bro! Tell her to stay strong and let her know that she is not alone and that no matter what pain she may feel that she still has great value and doesnt need to degrade herself. She is special and can overcome anything with support that it seems like she has. Hopefully she can analyse her home situation and perhaps workout a way to make things less painful there, I hope she doesnt feel depressed anymore man!
