I wouldnt worry about it, I started playing at Mass Effect 2 and it was perfectly fine, and supposdly they are gonna recap the story in 3 for the new buyers.

I think i mite agree with Forseti EA are publishing this game so if it goes to shit thay wont do anything.Besides that nope dont think i will preorder but the demo is sick enough to make me want to preorder it.And someone said u can start at game 2.If u want to play mass effect 3 and understand the story then u should play the others or its just another mindless shooter.

because it's ea and bioware.
DA2 was a massive pile of dung, with added multiplayer the single-played in ME3 is going to be completely terrible.

i agree with you. i hate ea, idk about mass effect but they make you buy a online code if you dont buy a new version. whatas the point of buying a 15 dollar code if every other day the ea servers are going to be down
as for bioware. i heard they were pretty good. havnt played a game from them but still

No matter what some if u guys say, Mass Effect 2 is one of my faveourite games of all time, the story and the epic ness was amazing, so i beleive that it will be awesome and there is dlc for mass effect 2 that explains the backstory and lets you make the key descions from ME1 it's like 5 bucks

Id recommend picking up the earlier ones aswell. They fill you in on the story and your character continues through each one. Also your choices in each one affect the others.

Well l was going to get it for PC but it needs that stupid origin running also which is total turn off,the game industry is completely out of original IP's so bad sequels keep getting churned out and their usually all bad.

I played through the action portion of the demo a couple days ago, and I really think it just fell short. :< The controls and camera angle remind me too much of Deadspace 2, and trying to compare Mass Effect 3 to Deadspace 2 is like comparing and old Toyota to a top-of-the-line sports car.
Some examples: In Deadspace, when you melee'd an enemy, you knew immediately if you hit it or not. True, there was an excessive amount of blood, but that was done on purpose to be conducive to the feel of the game. In Mass Effect, the only indicator that you're actually inflicting damage is when he enemy moves a little oddly.
Another example would be the enemy A.I. There were several instances in Mass Effect where I caught one or more hostile characters just standing around while others fought, or even having a ridiculous pause in between bursts of firing. In Deadspace, the enemies didn't immediately know where you were, so they'd simply start roaming until they caught sight of you or you made a noise, which seems to be what hideously mutated demon-aliens really would do if they existed. They never paused in between attacks to give you the advantage of a special firing window or even to wait for other enemies to finish attacking.
Lastly, I feel that the character model animations and interactive-terrain detection boxes need a bit of work. The first thing I noticed when playing was the fact that the playable character felt a bit stiff, and it was distracting for the first half of the level. It was also frustrating when you found that you couldn't climb down a latter or jump over a barrier unless you were in exactly the right spot. I'll agree that it may just be that I'm unfamiliar with Mass Effect's control scheme and overall way of doing things, but it took me a ridiculous 30 seconds to position myself correctly so I could activate the fucking ladder.
My main point is that Mass Effect would need to either fix a couple of those little problems or at least find a way to make itself more unique for me to want to buy it.
