Has SOPA effected you in any way. They recently took down megaupload and other sites and I'm wondering if it has effect you.

Thinly disguised internet censorship in the form of Stop Online Piracy Act.

No, it hasnt effected any other countries except places like china and middle east, its because our government is sooo fucked up and corrupt that they feel they need to monitor everything. Like there are other issues than piracy...like the suck ass economy, corrupt gov't, drugs, war, terror threats, ect...our govt sucks. We need Mitt Romney or Ron Paul in there to straighten it out

I hasn't really affected us, but everyone in Singapore was really worried, and we all mourned the loss of megaupload together.

Things like SOPA affect the whole world as when the US Gov. takes down a website, it doesn't matter where you are in the world, you still won't be able to access it.

The internet is a global link between users and content, so if something happens in one place it affects the whole world.

Let's say that someone from NZ posts a copyrighted video on YouTube and the copyright owners take use of SOPA (if it ever becomes law). As Youtube is owned by Google, a registered US country and because it is hosted in the US, the copyright owner can take down Youtube for endorsing illegal activity.

As a result of this scenario: Youtube is dead and can't be used anywhere in the world.

So to conclude a meaninglessly long answer:

Yes it affects people outside of the US.

Don't think it has affected Norway in any way, not that I have noticed at least.

Well, MegaUpload, yes. Most Android Devs use that site to upload mods, custom ROMs and many other tools, which sadly I can't get hold of anymore. It pisses me off too as a lot of links are broken.

wats SOPA?
