Can chat bans be overturned?

i just went to the chat room and said hello, and got banned immediately. what's going on? If i was banned, then why was i allowed in in the first place? i'm really confused right now, can someone explain everything to me and sort things out? thanks

The ban was never overturned in the first place. There seems to be a glitch in giving a regular ban - they seem to expire soon after they are given. This time I banned you using a different method and it should stay now.
