I've been cutting (on and off) for about 5 years and I still haven't found a scar cream that works for me. I have cuts all over my legs and it's pretty hard to manage summers in heavy clothing (as I'm sure you all know by now). So what I'd like to know is, what scar cream works the best? I've heard good things about bio-oil on the internet but any of my friends that have used it haven't had any results (but they used it for stretch marks, not si scars) Not sure if it makes a difference.
(Sorry if there is another thread like this, I looked and didn't see any but I might have missed it?)

I had no idea they even made cream, I'm pretty sure that you can heal them like surgically or through a Dermatoligist's expertise. They get better over time though, but for the most part they're permanent. I've got plenty from accidents and they just stick with me.

The thing with bio-oil is that you need to be consistent with it, you need to rub it into the scars I'd say twice a day for about 2 weeks to see any results. It does make them fade if you keep it up. But tbh, if the scars are quite bad, the chances are no scars will ever completely go, but they can fade. Bio-oil is pretty good, it made my scars fade quite a bit.

If you aren't concerned about expense i'm pretty certain there are more expensive scar creams out there just google it and see what appears.
If you can't get them to fade to your satisfaction, there is always make up, i'm pretty sure some of the posher companies like clarins I think do scar make up probably not specifically for self harm scars but it won't matter, and then there's always costume make up.
