Alexander woke up amongst a pile of stones and rubble. When he realized what those stones meant, Alexander immediatly jerked himself back to his feet. He examined his body, his right leg was almost red with dried blood and, feeling his left shoulder, felt as though a few bones probably weren't in the right place. He'd most likely broken a few of his ribs too. Alexander slowly licked his dry lips. Where was he? Alexander shifted his attention to the crater he was standing in. Shit. He couldn't see much from all the dust and pebbles that were flying around in the tempest that surrounded him. He coughed and ended up inhaling even more dust. Was he in a desert of some kind? He remembered talking with the townspeople in Central Square before, ending up here. Alexander didn't like the feeling in his gut right now. He looked up reluctantly at what surrounded him.

Carnage.

This was not mere destruction no, no, this was much more than that. Nothing was left standing. Buildings, towers, houses, stores, even churches were ravaged. Lives were not spared by the enemy either, as he caught sight of a childs- a flag passed through Alexanders sight. He centered his attention on it. It was a small flag, it had a teal outline with a picture of two dragons standing opposite to each other with flames aimed upwards at small yellow sunlike shape. It was the flag of a nation, a proud and powerful nation infact. Alexander swallowed the dust caught in his throat. That was the flag of his kingdom. Alexander felt a feeling of bitterness start to claw at him. He pushed the emotion away. He looked at a torn banner on the ground near him and his heart sank. That was Lings store. He understood where he was now.

This was no desert.

This was Central Square.

What precious little there was left. Alexander bit his dry lips. He clutched his side and slowly moved out of the crater he was standing in. The duststorm had subsided. His view was now cleared from obstruction. He reexamined his surroundings. He looked at every single building, every single body with unwavering eyes. Even if he wanted to, he had no right to avert his attention from what had just happened. They had protected what was dear to them with their lives and had payed the price for it. They died with honor, and Alexander eyed each one with the respect and dignity they deserved for such sacrifice.
He bit back tears and, having completed his silent homage to his people, turned to look at the sky. He stepped back in horror as he witnessed the sky looking back.

End of intro.

This is another story i wrote today, hope u enjoy it and feel free to give some feedback!

Alexander thought long and hard about his current situation as he munched on a fruit(?). He spat it right back out his mouth. Alexander felt sick. He'd been eating nothing but fruits for the past 3 days, his unbalanced diet starting to take its toll. He couldn't help it, it was either that or starve. He chose the former. He fell to his knees and barfed some more. He was starting to doubt whether starving was a better option. He got up and wiped his mouth. He looked at the odd looking fruit with disgust. Alexander had no idea of what exactly it was he'd just eaten. He dropped it and wiped his hands with shirt. He felt like his stomach was doing backflips. It was getting harder and harder to concentrate on the problem at hand under such bleak conditions. Alexander looked back at the pheonix. At first the phoenix seemed like somewhat of an ally, now he was just an annoyance.

"Wheres the next town?"
The phoenix didn't respond, not even as much as twitch a muscle. Alexander was dumbfounded, what was he supposed to do?
Was the phoenix merely watching him die? He sighed. He kept walking nonetheless. He stopped when he spotted what looked like a beach through the rubble. He spun around. He'd long since left the town square. He was probably around the outskirts of town now. His eyes locked on a small stone lying on the ground. It seemed like a regular rock, but something told Alexander that might not be the case. He walked toward it.
Don't touch it! Alexander was quickly jerked back to reality. He turned around and eyed the phoenix. The thought sent by the phoenix resounded in his mind with such intensity that he need time to rearrange his train of thoughts.
"What have i got to lose?" Alexander replied, at this point, he was gonna do everything the phoenix told him not to. What did he have to lose?
Once again the phoenix remained silent. Alexander was breathing heavily now. He looked around at the carnage and destruction that surrounded him. Tears filled his eyes. Alexander picked up the stone. It was no regular stone, as he'd suspected. He wiped the dust off of the mysterious object. He froze.
It was a white crystal. Alexander could vaguely see the shape of his own hand through it. Alexander inspected it a bit more. Something was written on it.

Miriam Christopher Alexander.

Alexanders heart skipped a beat. Miriam, that name reminded him of someone. Someone close to him. His mind struggled to recall whos it was exactly. It was his mothers name.Alexander looked back at the phoenix. He must have known, alexander thought. Alexander turned around and faced the phoenix. He was gonna beat the living daylights out of that thing. It was gonna talk.
And it was gonna talk very, very soon.
"Aargh!!" Alexander launched himself at the phoenix. Then he stopped when be realized the cry was not his own.
Alexander spun around and found himself facing an armed warrior. The warrior brought his sword down on him. Alexander felt like the world was in slow motion. He dodged the blow without a second thought and brought his knee right into the warriors stomach. The warrior seemed taken aback by the blow but recovered before Alexander could follow up. He countered with a quick kick, Alexander sidestepped the blow with ease and rammed his fist into the warriors ' face. That sent the warrior to ground hard. The warrior seemed unfazed by the blow and hoped back up to his feet. He immediately slashed at alexander with his sword. Alexander pushed the tip of the sword down with his right hand, and finished him with a left spin kick. The impact of the blow pushed the warrior back, the warrior brushed it off like it was nothing. He wiped the blood off of his cheeks before charging at Alexander again. Reckless idiot, Alexander thought as he kicked off of his left leg. The warrior spun off the attack and thrust his sword at Alexanders throat. Alexander ducked out of the way and tripped his opponent. The warrior landed on upside down in a handstand, and flipped himself back into a standing position. He slashed at Alexander angrily. Alexander used the opportunity to launch his right elbow directly into his opponents face. His attacker was too slow to react in time and payed the price for it. Dropping his sword and clutching his face in agony, the warrior was unable to block Alexanders follow up punch. He doubled over from the blow and, feeling the tip of his own sword pressing against his neck, the man raised his hands in surrender.
Alexander suddenly came back to his senses. The defeated warrior wiped the blood from his mouth.
" Are," He stuttered for a moment, examining Alexander as if he remembered something.
"You're Prince Alexander!" he exclaimed. Alexander was at a loss for words. *The warrior looked at Alexander like a baby looking at his mother.
Theres something about finding a relic from his past, getting ambushed , fighting with strength he never knew he had and getting recognized as the prince he almost never remembered being that made it hard to respond.
