Question for Girls

I don't know if this is puberty related but i didn't know where else to put it so here goes: why do girls always put themselves down?
ex: one of my friends always calls herself fat and ugly when she is clearly neither :what: Its like that for almost every girl I've ever met. Please Reply

She just has low self-esteem. Almost ever girl goes through this. I got over it eventual and now I love myself. Just keep denying those put downs and tell her she looks awesome and shouldn't ever think about changing a thing! ;)

I don't know all the reasons chicks do this but I can give you one reason that I know. Some girls (NOT ALL) will say things like ''oh my God I'm so fat! :('' or ''Ewww I'm so ugly omg!!'' and try to get you to say ''No you're not you're beautiful!'' or ''NO WAY! Your body is amazing! You're hot!''. So basically sometimes when a sexy/hot/pretty girl says something to put themselves down they want your attention and they want you to give them a compliment so they can see how you really feel about them or they just want a compliment cos they are attention seekers, this is not the case in all girls but sometimes it it.

Hormones. Thats the original cause of most of it. We're a big bag of self hating, bad self esteemed, emotional roller coaster some times, especially on our peirods for some girls. Others, it might be an condition.

It's a self-esteem issue and some guys become extremely aggravated about it. But remember, all you have to do is reassure her that she's nothing but beautiful.

Yep a lot of girls that I know this is exactly what they think about themselves but in real they all gorgeous and beautiful.

Low self esteem but your friends will pick you up, if I call my self fat, they tell I'm not and force me to eat, mucking around they stuff food in my ,south like sweets or something , trying to fatten me up. I dunno why girls are like it but you have support

You know a lot of people with no self-confidence. I don't know many people like that.

Girls tend to have low-self esteem especially compared to boys during the teen years. Especially since most of us are constantly comparing ourselves to others and celebrities no matter if we voice the thoughts or not. When we hear the media saying we have to be thin or have to be this or that, then people tend to have less self confidence.

Some are attention-seekers though, they just want you to tell them the opposite. I'm not saying that's all people, but some.
