How would you convince your parents to buy you a piano?

That would be hard because a good quality piano can cost as much if not more than a new car or you good, like my friend Derek get one off Ebay for 50 dollars....

Practice,Practice,Practice, become quite good at it and then impress them with a little show (use the school's/friend's piano or even a cheap electronic keyboard).
That should inspire them to buy you one, even if it is very expensive.

Get a keyboard for now. Alot cheaper and almost the same thing. After awhile of playing try to convince your parents to pitch in to help you pay for one. Get a job and earn some money, don't make them pay for it all. They're expensive.

Yeah start on a keyboard and just practice all the time, if you show them that you will actually play it them they're a lot more likely to any want to get it.
But pianos are very expensive the one at my mum's cost £1100 and at my dad's £1250 I was very lucky and probably dont deserve them.
Just so your parents how dedicated you will be if you got one and that about the only thing you can do.

Think my parents would jump at the chance if I asked them that, they've always wanted me to be more productive in the musical sense xD

Ask them a MIDI/USB controller (be careful with the controller that you want). it's cheaper than a keyboard.....if i were you i would get M-audio Prokeys 88es....it's enough to start and it's around 200$.
If you chose a controller, you'll have to have it always connected to a computer or a sound module, 'cause a controller has no souds. Semi-weighted keys - "not bad"...The sound quality depends on the software sounds...

Well, you could ask them for a keyboard first. Then, if you sound really well, you could then ask them for the piano. Are your parents well educated in Music? If so then yes, otherwise, chances are slim, unless their a middle-class family like all my middle class friends that all have pianos (or as they say; pianoforte's) lying around their house for no apparent reason except for show most likely. Oh and ask them really nicely too. You would need somewhere to put it.

Is that a piano? I don't think so.

You can find second hand pianos which are just as or even better than brand new ones or you could settle for a keyboard which is just as good, tell them that you have an interest in the subject and it would be a good step in development if you were to get one.

No it's not a piano, but i think that if he wants to learn, he should start with something cheaper than a piano, like a keyboard or a controller, just to know if that's what he really want
