Then on my Desktop I run openSuSE 11.4 as my main OS, and as of recently FreeBSD for experiments.

Dual booting means you have 2 (or more) operating systems installed on the same machine. You get the choice of which one you want to load when you first boot the machine up.
So you can have Windows and Ubuntu installed at the same time, if you want. Or you can go the Hackintosh route (Installing OSX on non-Mac hardware), and also have Windows still installed.
Or EVERY distro of Linux ever created (Provided you have enough hard drive space). :P

Now just Windows 7.
In the past year, I have dual booted and triple booted into Windows, Kubuntu and A Legal Hackintosh (Don't say that hackintosh is illegal. Use google to see how it is.)

But then I saw theres no point dual or triple booting. If I need to run linux I just do in VirtualBox.

Wow, there are more Linux users here than I would have expected. I just recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 with Wubi and I'm liking it very much so far. I'm pretty much only using Windows 7 just for syncing my iPhone now.

Considering the fact that all posts in this thread besides yours were made before the Consumer Preview was released, no, you do not have anyone beat.
Also, please tell me you're not running the Preview as your primary operating system. It would be extremely idiotic to be running it as your primary/only OS.

Windows 7.

I loved XP so much, but the 'pinning' ability and the searching ability in the start menu are the best (and possibly the only good) features in W7.

Well, that's probably because it's not done yet. Why would you even expect Skype to work on Windows 8 if the release date for Windows 8 hasn't even been announced yet?

Jesus, please don't blame your programs not working on an operating system that's still being developed.

Pretty much exactly this.
You can't expect pre-release software to work swimingly. You have to expect there to be bugs, and performance issues.
Not to mention Skype hasn't yet been updated for Win8.
Come the time Win8 is released, most of the major bugs and performance issues will be fixed. And Skype, and every other program you're having issues with, will work better.

But right now, you simply can't be mad at 8, when you went into this knowing that it's pre-release (Aka: Beta) software.
If you can't handle the bugs and issues 8 has right now, then perhaps it's time go back to 7 until 8 is officially released?

You're not impressing anybody with that, and bragging about it won't get people to like you any better. Heck, they'll probably be discouraged from using it if anything at all.

And besides that, if you're not going to say anything productive, you may as well not post.

I am going to wait until they release the full version of Windows 8 before I upgrade, otherwise it would be just asking for trouble.

True...
but isn't Windows 8 running the same Kernal as W7? That would mean I shouldn't have "scripting" issues with skype..just a fancy new UI and Name.
