I think when it comes to the US welfare they should have a system like this because I have herd and known many people that have fallen to the american health care giant, They acutally reject people treatment and I think that is sick.

I am glad your dad will be okay

Eric, I'm really sorry to hear about all of this. I know what it's like to have a parent with cancer. Both my mother and father have had cancer and there have been a lot of complications and misfortunes to fuel the fire along the way.

You know that I'm always here for you no matter what, and whether you need advice, or just somebody to listen to you - all you need to do is let me know. I'm glad to help in any way I can.

Stay strong, your dad is in my thoughts.

we are so lucky it is like that, or else we would be in a lot of trouble. thanks for all the support you have shown.

thank you so much, brandon. it means a lot.

It's great to hear that the cancer was discovered before it spread... and it won't take a financial toll on your family either. Hopefully the procedure goes well :)

Be sure to keep us updated, we're hear for ya if you need anything.

i will keep you updated, and i know. it was so scary, and then i thought... wait, aren't hospital bills paid already if he served in the service?

thank you so much, and speaking of free, this should be my seventy-odd some number of days being free. i almost cut this morning, but i luckily threw the blade down at the last second.

Thank you so much Mike, it really means a lot. I have been going through hell the past few months, and it's nice to know that I'm not the worst off, and I can still help. Although lots of times I have to remember that I also need help. That would be a defect of mine, not thinking I need help.

Thank you so much.

A note to everyone who read this post----even if you didn't post.

Thank you so much, it means too much to even describe to know that people read my posts and that some care enough to post back. This is a hard concept to get my mind around, and it was like when I got the news that I was standing on a buoy in the middle of a hurricane. And now there are people around me holding me up. I can't imaging life without this website. Thanks, to everyone.

I am so sorry to hear that your father has esophageal cancer. No matter how strong an individual has been brought up to be, situations like this are extremely hard to handle. Luckily, in some instances, esophageal cancer is not fatal. As for the school payment, you should speak to an administrator or a counselor. All individuals in the US (and hopefully almost every other industrialized nation) are entitled to a free an appropriate education. Monetary dues should not be a deciding factor in the quality of one's learning. If you speak to your school, the should ideally have some sort of fund available to help relieve dues associated with education, if not solve it completely. I hope your father's condition improves! Early detection is the key! If you have any questions AT ALL, please feel free to message me. I am here for you.

FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just when everything was going great with my life, something had to happen. my dad is going to die.

the radiation treatments, since they are supposed to be in the center of the esophagus, so it could ruin his heart, lungs, spine, and ironically enough cause swallowing issues, which is why he went into the treatments in the first place. so, if he takes the treatments, his heart won't last very long.

but if he doesn't take the treatments, well, he still has stage 3 cancer. so, there is an 88% chance that he will die without the treatments. and with them, well, it's just too much to add up.

i love you daddy :(

and sorry for bumping this a lot, i just want to keep you guys updated.

Dude, I know what you are going through. My dad had Bladder Cancer last year, and we thought it was the worst for him. After several test, we found out it was the a good case (other than not having caner), and they were able to cut out the cancer after a few months of treatments. Times got and still are tough for us. So far, he is cancer free. I', sorry to hear about that, I wish all of you the best of luck. Much Respect for You'all.

Eric, you know i'm always here for you. I'm so sorry you and your family are having to go through this. All you can do is hope, I know it feels impossible but try to stay a little positive. It seems as though you're really close, a relationship like that, no matter how long it lasts, can never be forgotten. Spend time with him, make sure they're happy moments I don't doubt that they won't be.
You'll get through this Eric, i'm not saying it won't be hard but you'll come out stronger on the other side. Don't lose faith though, he's still with you and that's what counts. :console:

See this is the one of the most traumatic things anyone can go through and it is incredibly tough on the loved ones.

You need to stay strong. It will be hard. The best thing you can do is try not to look at him and constantly think "he's could die" yes you need to come to terms with it and by the sounds of it you have. You just need to make sure that the time you spend with him is the best in the world.

I am truly sorry to hear this Eric I really am. No one should have to live through this at such a young age. I can only imagine the conflicting emotions you must feel at any random point in the day.

Stay strong Eric. I know you can.

If you need to talk then I am here for you.

(sorry I could not say more or anything better. I have never went through anything like this and can only imagine what you are truly going through)

i am really sorry for bringing this up over and over. but here for those who want an update...

As it turns out, when they got his tumor out, they actually spread the cancer. They say they may be able to treat him, but they give him ten years, if they can treat him. So, he either dies or gets "treated" and lives ten years. *sigh*

slow and painful. i wouldn't expect anything different.
