View Full Version : Passing out for no apparent reason.

So, yesterday I was just sitting around not doing much and I decided to get a drink. After doing this, my vision started to blur and I couldn't hear. I then passed out for a few seconds and hit my leg on a wooden cupboard thing :/

This has never happened before and I'm really worried. I had been eating fine and I'm not sick, it just happened out of the blue. I am already going to the doctor on Wednesday (unrelated), and I'm going to ask about it. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions about what may have happened, as I said I'm quite worried.

There are several possible causes of this, including poison. If you've ingested a poisonous substance that can cause it.
Basically, this happened because of lack of oxygenated blood flow to the brain, which means either
-your heart was having trouble pumping blood to the brain
-you have shitty blood vessels which give you low blood pressure
-there isn't enough blood in your vessels
-your lungs were not taking in enough oxygen.
You said you were getting a drink, so it's unlikely that it was the second one, but all the others are pretty much equally possible.
I hope I helped, even though I probably didn't :/

That happened to me once in a science class, but thankfully i knew what was coming so i asked the teacher if i could go to the toilet coz i didnt feel well.

Anyway, from my knowledge passing out is caused by insufficient amount of blood and oxygen delivered to your brain, and is triggered by a nerve that connects the digestive system to the brain, and if that nerve "over reacts", you can pass out. Hope it helped :)

Both of these are correct bout oxygen-deprived syncope....I would, yes, never mind, YOU NEED TO talk to your physician about this....this does not need to become a constant problem....

Yeah I agree with Dimitri, however could be Orthostatic Hypotension, cause by getting up to fast to get a drink. But ask your Doctor when you go :)

I went to the doctor today and he my blood pressure, pulse, etc. Apparently I'm fine but if it keeps happening I must go back.
