Get some anti-fungal soap and some Lortimin Ultra. Both can be bought at virtually and supermarket or pharmacy.
The fungus that causes jock itch is actually the same fungus that causes athletes foot. The two can be treated the same, but I definitely suggest getting the anti-fungal soap to use in the shower.

Also, in addition to the above stated....you need to make sure that you pat the area dry, use a clean towel every time and then after putting the lotion on it you can also use gold-bond anti0itch powder after you clean and dry the area to, well, reduce the itching....

Yes, make sure you pat dry with a CLEAN towel. Also make sure that you don't wear the same pair of underwear twice - yeah you might think it's gross, but things happen lol. Also if you tend to sleep in shorts or sweats/pajama pants, make sure you wash them before you wear them again too. The fungus will get in there and it'll take longer for you to get rid of it if every time you throw on those sleep pants/shorts you re-infect the area.
