So last thursday (2/7/12) apple officially announced that the Ipad 3 will be released either the first week in march or early march.
who's excited about the release of the Ipad 3?
What are your predictions about it?
what cool spec designs will it have?
And the big question that's on everyones mind...the price, how much do you think it will be for a 16gb, 32gb, and 64gb? And how will it effect the pricces of the current ipad and ipad 2? (What will those prices change to/stay the same)

Kindle Fire is outselling, so they need to get the apple fanboys hyped up about something new.

I'm just asking, what else are they supposed to change? :P
A tablet's form factor isn't exactly something that changes. It's a tablet.

At least their hardware is finally catching up.

Windoze 7 has been out for about 2 or 3 years now, and it's still popular.

You know, I never did get into the Siri way of things. I've not really used it apart from when I first got my phone. So for it to be on the next tab would be kinda pointless. But it sounds like the logical step for Apple to take in terms of marketing.

Make way for the iPad 4....and *drumroll*....... the iPad 4S!
Exactly the same code, but one has in the code:
enable_siri = 0
and the other has
enable_siri = 1
You can ask twice the price for the second one. Get yours now, folks!

Probably because it's not Vista.

I don't think the prices will change, it's unusual for that to happen.

As for affecting the iPad 2, they'll probably just sell the iPad 3. They don't need 12 models, that would just confuse the majority of people.

Upgraded things will probably be:

Camera
4G LTE
Retina Display
Thinner form factor / modified design

Eh, not sure if I'll get rid of my iPad 2 to get one.
I have Siri on my phone... Haven't used it in a few months now that its worn off.
I'm not an apple fanboy but I use my iPad for heaps of things that Apple software accomodates. Such as iMuscle.
I wonder how it compares to the recent Samsung tablet?

i have read that it will be minutely thicker to accommodate a retina display

I'm not the least bit excited about anything Apple. I've never bought anything from them. I don't even own any type of i-pod!

There's no need to fret man. Anything you buy goes out of date immediately and something more advanced in any particular way gets a release just around the corner. That's a fact that especially true with Apple unfortunately. Enjoy it man, it's a good piece of kit and the new one will only be improved in the slightest.

If it fails to impress me I'll probably wait until the iPad 4 and try again or try a Windows 8 tablet.

I was going to get the iPad 3 but since the iPad 4 will come out so soon after (4th quarter of 2012 -1st quarter of 2013) I am going to wait.

The Pad 3 looks like it has a good amount of upgrade to be worth upgrading. Plus, it's the same price as the iPad 2 when it launched, so you're not getting a price hike better features. SOLD!

The current iPads will go down in price by maybe $100 or so I believe. I'm very excited about the new iPad :D I've heard that its going to be mega fast compared to the iPad 2 a lot of bugs will be fixed. A way Better camera and FaceTime experience. No one knows what it will look like, but theirs speculation that it will have no home button. And less glare. The price I heard is gonna be hefty, around $800-$1,000 for 16 gb. I heard its gonna be way more expensive. Apple keeps everything pretty secret until the day of the release. Hopefully it will be less breakable, come on apple, make screens that aren't so easy to crack :mad:

From what I've seen, the main things about the new iPad are better cameras, faster processor, and a better display. Basically about it.

Have you guys not been reading the updates to the unveiling? It's got an upgraded A5 called the A5X and it's still dual core but is capable of support quad core graphics which it now has due to the upgraded retina display and iSight which is the upgraded full HD 1080 videoing capable 5 MP camera. It's a tiny bit thicker and heavier and has a few minimal UI I think. But what I like is that those upgrades which some might find too minor are still priced at what the 2 was when it came out. So it's good. If you have a 2 already, then upgrading isn't necessary.

it has a 2048 x 15?? resolution, slightly better cameras, a dual core A5 with a quad core GPU, and my guess is finally a full gig of ram. "A5X" processor, which it has on board, is claimed to have "4x better performance than Tegra 3" but i HIGHLY doubt that. anyways, im an Android guy, and arent very excited for the next piece of crap Apple makes. ;)

I honestly couldn't care less about each generation of Apple Models. I seem to notice that people use iPads an awful lot just to show off they can afford one, since I don't see people using them out and about to read or stuff, they usually have kindles.
