How should I deal with it ? Do I change who I am to please other people and fit in, or do I stay true to myself and risk isolating my self socially ?

I’m not sure what to do for the best anymore :(

Hun, i think you should keep on moving, stereotypes are made because people act a certain way and it has proven to be repetitive throughout history.

I think you can do it, keep your head held high and do not let anyone get you down, YOU are in control of the situation, do not let others decide who you are, only you can do so.

Show them, show those idiots that you are not the norm, you are different you are an individual and not one to conform to the social norms.

You are you and you alone, no one else.

Please dont try and change yourself to get others to like you.
Be a bit different, go your own way. Youre unique and should be proud.

If you do change and people accept you then just think about what types of friends they would be. Do you really want to be hanging around with people that dont like, theyre not even worth a thought in your head.
If you want to find real friends then be yourself, dont make up another person to hide behind.
But like demiti said, its your choice, no one else should be telling you what to do, its just my opinion. But i do stand by it and i have such great, supportive friends and i get stereotyped a lot by others.
I think you need to stay true to yourself or you will end up losing yourself and looking at someone else in the mirror.

dont try to change yourself, be who you are! stereotypes mean nothing, theyre a stupid thing stupid people do. i was in some troible, and wore a full set of body armor to school, ive also been hurt very bad by many people so i dont talk much. add those together and im a "poser". people would rather diss others than look deeply at themselves. avoid the people who label you, all i can say.

hell no. I get this all the time, everyday, but I have refused to change myself, i walk around school with my head held high, because im proud of being different. I dont want to be like all the boring people know one remembers at the end of school.
