Anyone ever had a lot of experience of shaving their moustache? List the tools and steps to shaving. Also, how can I avoid cuts?

Yes. Every 2 days.
Get a razor, cream/gel, and a water source.
Put the shaving cream/gel on the area and lather it.
Wet the razor with warm water
Start at the top of the 'stache and pull downward
If youre careful and slow, you wont cut yourself - Its also helpful to do it in front of a mirror.

I've been shaving every few days for the last four years. Get yourself a good, manual razor. Don't cheap out. Also get yourself some moisturizing shaving cream and a good aftershave. I use Aqua Velva Ice Blue aftershave, and it's great.

When shaving:
- Wet your face and your hands
- Squirt the aftershave (foam) into your palm, make sure there is enough to cover the area you're about to shave.
- Spread the shaving cream in the appropriate area
- Wet your razor and go with the grain, you don't want ingrown hairs.
Be careful to not move side to side or you will cut yourself.
- Once you're finished with that you can rinse off the residue and pat dry.
- Take a little aftershave on a cotton swab, a little bit goes a long way, and wipe it on the shaved area. This will smooth it out and help prevent ingrown hairs. Do not wash this off or wipe it off with anything. It'll do it's job if you leave it be.

Now after you've done this make sure you thoroughly wash off your razor because a clean razor works best. This will make it last longer and keep it sharp! When you feel like your razor isn't quite doing the job it once was, you can either buy a new head for it (new blades) or just toss it and buy a new one.

Also, don't feel the need to shave every day. It's not necessary and could possibly irritate your skin. Only shave when you think you really need to.

Hope I was a help.

To soften the hairs and make shaving less harsh, shower or have a long swim before you shave. The hairs absorb water and therefore become easier to cut.

Never have shaved but I hear that if you go against the grain of how your facial hair grows you will increase you chances of getting cut signicantly

Does shaving in different directions each time prevent the hairs to grow in one direction?

Nope. Always shave with the grain. More comfort and less ingrown hairs.

Well, always shave downwards, NEVER side to side, or you'll get cuts. Use shaving cream and wet your face. Go slowly over all the hairs and regularly wash off your blade. Always use a new blade each time.

Just always shave towards the ground. Then you won't get cuts.
Only time I've ever cut myself is if I've had a spot or something and the blade goes over it
