okay i have a problem skype isnt working for me at all ive completely deleted it and reinstalled it multiple times and idk what to do i have windows 7 and ive done everything i can think of the link is what skype is doing on my computer

U might have downloaded a virus. Take it off restart comp then put it on if it is not a virus

Is your Windows Internet Explorer working properly? That can also be a problem.

Neither do I but Skype requires a completely perfectly fine Internet Explorer, I have a Windows XP computer but I helped out a few No-Longer-Friends that had Windows 7.

Anyway see if you have any updates for IE, you don't have to set your main browser to windows IE but you have to make sure that flash and everything runs properly with it. Can you run flash and java on IE without any problems? Can you surf the net on IE without problems?

or
Kill process, then restart
or
run as admin?
or reinstall?

That has happened to me once I don't know what i did to get rid of it,

I dont have IE installed on my PC. Skype still works...

What? Unless your on a mac I find that somewhat hard to believe, anyway that's just from my own personal experience.

This thread is hilarious.


Anyway, go to Start, and in the searchbox type in 'dxdiag' and hit enter.
In the main page, make sure that under 'DirectX Version' it is at least 9.0c. If it is under that version (9.0b, 9.0, 8.0, etc), you will need to upgrade your DirectX.
Next, click on the "Display" tab, and make sure both DirectDraw AND Direct3D is Enabled.
And at the bottom of the Display tab, make sure that there are no problems found under 'Notes'.

Also, have you installed all Windows updates labeled as "Important"?
And are your graphics drivers up to date? (It's alright if you don't know)
