So I have a friend and she's always negative. She seems to be in a bad mood probably once a week, and she's very vocal about what she thinks. Which in some cases is good, but not at school. Like she'll say how she finds everyone In the school annoying and how she wants to shoot them. And she isn't afraid to say it loud. It's embarrassing and weird.

Also whenever she isn't in a bad mood, she seems to sometimes gang up on me with her other friend. So like she will agree on everything with her other friend and it's annoying. She probably has 3-4 friends including me. Last year, she was horrible to me, but this year she's really softened up. What can I say to her to have her stop being so negative?

Can't really put mouth in your words but really, as a friend, you should cheer her up. If she's close and personal enough with you, talk to her about it, at the right time & place.

The fact that she was horrible to you last year may have given something away.
Some people find it hard to change their ways and even if you thought she had some people just grow apart. Just think to yourself is she really worth it, all the trouble and hurt that it brings you.
If yes then like said above try and sort things out, talk to her, ask her whats wrong.
If no then slowly just stop spending time with her, make friends with people that respect you and like you for who you are.

Have you tried telling her maybe to not be so negative all the time?
